I never considered it bad news really. ED stepping in taking taking over where RRG fell off = good news. ED's restructure of the rewards to something realistically sustainable for the company...again = good news. :)

I actually think most of the bad news is behind us now....

 

I hope so too.

 

Although I suspect that if the new WWII backers page isn't sorted before the Dora's release and you end up with those that backed DCS WWII/ helped fund the development of the plane not having access to it, while others that didn't back it get access, is only going to create a whole lot more ill feeling towards ED.

 

Lets hope we avoid that s%^t storm.

SiTh, you've been flying the Dora as well as Sabre, obviously. Fun factor over personal preference for specific era or technology, if that's even possible, which one would you buy? I need to decide before the regular price kicks in.

 

I know way off topic and may the SiTh lord forgive. :P

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

Well the worst that comes from the backer page not being ready is you A) Have to buy the Dora B) have to wait a little longer for the Dora....

 

 

Waiting a bit longer wont be too much of a problem now we have the Sabre to fly. I'm finding it great fun even though it was the Dora I was looking forward to most.

I'm not sure I am the best person to ask, if I had to buy one I would go the Dora because I have always been a WWII fan... I will say this though... I didnt know much about the Sabre, wasnt all that interested in it.... but after playing with it... I am really enjoying it...

 

But again I am bias... I have a lot of personal time vested in the 190 as well :)

Oi. At least I have two more days to decide. Would have been a no brainer if the Bis is the one in open beta.

Got a question Sith. If I go ahead and preorder the FW190 do I get $10 bonus bucks to use on say the F86? I may go ahead and purchase the FW190 if this is the case because they still don't have the backers section ready.

I think because the 190 is currently discounted you wont get bonus points for it.

 

I'm happy to inform that I just bought the Dora (will get other 2 with the DCS Kickstarter) and I got the 10$ bonus. So yes, you can use it to get the Sabre.

Same here. That backer rewards section was hosted on ED's website already in March, can't think of any reasons why the (reduced) rewards should not become available in August.

well, i guess we will see within the next two days, as the dora should be available then. with all ED has done for the backers so far, i'm pretty sure they will update the webside before or at the release date, if not, well, i guess sithspawn may need a lot of coffee* :D

As a backer I'm very tempted to get the Dora now so i definately have it for release, although if we get access to the backer rewards, I'd almost be handing them extra cash for a promised reward.........

The long wait time for the backer page causes unnecessary stress and uncertainty. After everything the backers have gone through I hope this gets taken care of asap.

I'm not the biggest advocate of the restructured rewards system, but I have to say you guys are unbelievable. So what if you miss out on a day 1 release of the dora because the backer rewards section isn't complete on time. The world wont end. It's not like there's a limited amount of keys and you'll miss the boat. You'll get a key, you'll get to fly eventually. Relax, enjoy what you already have. Patience is a virtue.

I have many virtues, unfortunately having the patience to wait for my No1. favourite aircraft to be released, at a level of detail unheard of before, is not one of them :joystick:

As someone who backed what he has in order to get P-51D keys in October, my patience is running on empty. It's not about a day more or less, it's about making it right.

I sympathise with you and your ilk.

 

Some people have been waiting for the P-51 key for almost a year now. To put salt on the wound they might now have to wait for the Dora as well.

Exactly, we should be glad to be allowed to fly it eventually! Those that want to have all planes right on release the release date shouldn't have backed DCS WWII. It is their own fault.

I'm not sure if that's ironic or if you're serious. Just in case, from the Kickstarter description...

 

The project is a joint venture between RRG Studios and Eagle Dynamics.

 

I don't understand the DCS World P-51 and FW.190D-9 Extras

 

DCS WWII will come out next year. DCS World is available now. You can already fly the P-51 in DCS World, while the FW.190D-9 will come out early next year, well before the release date of DCS WWII.

 

If you wish to fly these aircraft earlier, you can select these rewards now. The P-51 license will be issued to you soon after the Kickstarter campaign ends, while the FW.190D-9 license will be issued early next year when the DCS World version of the aircraft will become available.

 

Please note that the FW.190D-9 license for DCS World is only available for an $80 Matrix pledge or higher due to the fact that the product is not yet released.

Don't play the blame game. Like mac said hes been waiting since October for a p-51 key. There are many different personal stories to this. All I was saying was that if the backer rewards section isn't ready by release of the dora it's no big deal. For some obviously they have a legitimate gripe regarding P-51 keys.
