VTJS17_Fire Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Hi guys, some additional screenshots from my first flight last night - with a successful landing! Here a short Pre-Preview from this flight: (translated from my German post) "Hello everyone, I'm very proud, that I have received a promo version of the MiG-21bis by Leatherneck. The module is of course already installed and I did my first flight last night: JUST AWESOME! Exterior model, textures, cockpit and flight model are really perfect - the cockpit looking in my opinion in DCS his peers. Only Rickardos Cockpit mod for the A-10C can match that. Below are a few screenshots of my first tour. Anyway, I'm healing come down on landing. First conclusion: Day 1 Purchase recommendation! A detailed (P)Review will follow in a few days, the first tutorial next week. Thus, you are prepared this time properly before the release. I have to thank Nick and find that the guys at Leatherneck Simulations did a first-class work! kind regards, Fire" Hardware: Intel i5 4670K | Zalman NPS9900MAX | GeIL 16GB @1333MHz | Asrock Z97 Pro4 | Sapphire Radeon R9 380X Nitro | Samsung SSDs 840 series 120GB & 250 GB | Samsung HD204UI 2TB | be quiet! Kuky Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 My recommendation about the MIG-21Bis... it's damn good module but... you will really want to read (and learn lot from) the manual. I printed the 181 page manual this afternoon, A4 format, in color... it wasn't cheap but I did it anyway... it will come in handy for many years to come. I can already see many posts like "how do I raise my landing gear" and alike  PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

Neon67 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Has the manual been already released ? I would love to start learning this jet already before even handling it

You lucky Bisers, feed us with info ´til I can put my hands on that stick. Maybe a little more on flight perfomance...? Thank you very much for the pics and words, if I had that preview copy.....don´t know if I would trade flight hours to write posts here, so thanks again. Edited August 16, 2014 by tomcatter
Boss86005 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 May have been asked already, but is the Mig-21 going to be available for the Steam version of DCS World? VTJS17_Fire Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Hi folks, here some new shots from the Saturdays flight, right after my first Ramp Start procedure. The Flight Manual is written very well, it helped a lot at the start-up. I'll repeat myself: The Flight Model is outstanding, flying the MiG-21bis makes a lot of fun. It's a nice target presentation in our squadron training, too (IMO), something different on the TEWS. :D regards, Fire Hardware: Intel i5 4670K | Zalman NPS9900MAX | GeIL 16GB @1333MHz | Asrock Z97 Pro4 | Sapphire Radeon R9 380X Nitro | Samsung SSDs 840 series 120GB & 250 GB | Samsung HD204UI 2TB | be quiet! After reading some of the posts here and on SimHQ, I had already figured out that some creative target scripting is going to make this aircraft much easier to operate than with the mouse or straight 'in game' control mapping.
