Mustang Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 Quick atiumd64.dll injection test with DCS - performance with 14.9 is down to the same levels as the previous 14.4-14.8 when compared to the recent 14.41 so if you want the best FPS go with 14.41.
SkateZilla Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 thanks Mustang, depending on the changelog I may update my system to 14.9WHQL and keep 14.41 dll in the bin folder. I was wondering if we should setup a sticky thread for amd dll injection instructions and DLL downloads to make it easier for users to find. I still come across dozens of AMD users every week that dont know about this and end up with pleasing results when they try it. HiJack Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Quick atiumd64.dll injection test with DCS - performance with 14.9 is down to the same levels as the previous 14.4-14.8 when compared to the recent 14.41 so if you want the best FPS go with 14.41. The 14.41 from Guru gives DirectX error with FRAPS on my computer. Did not help to update DirectX with the full downloaded or the webinstall of DirectX. Uninstall of 14.41 and installing 14.9 solved it. Going for 14.9 here. Will it be an idea to keep the atiumd64.dll in DCS bin folder or will that not work with 14.9?
bart Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I tried to upgrade my drivers to 14.4 but my TrackIR software quit working, ended up having to do a system restore to get Track IR working again and have gone back to 13.2 I tried everything to get the Track IR software working again but nada.....every time I tried to open it, it froze and nothing appeared on the screen even though it was on the processes list. Only way I could close it was to end process. Gave up in the end and went back to 13.2 :( System :- i7-12700K 3.6 GHz 12 core, ASUS ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming, 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz, 24GB Asus ROG Strix Geforce RTX 3090, 1x 500GB Samsung 980 PRO M.2, 1x 2TB Samsung 980 PRO M.2, Corsair 1000W RMx Series Modular 80 Plus Gold PSU, Windows 10. SkateZilla Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 i think it had somthing to do with OpenGL Triple Buffering. I havent had an issue since 14.1 and that was the OpenGL issue. bart Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 i think it had somthing to do with OpenGL Triple Buffering. I havent had an issue since 14.1 and that was the OpenGL issue. Yeah....I read about the Triple Buffering issue on the Track IR web site (where you download the Track IR software) and I checked this in the Catalyst Control Centre and it was turned off, so I guess that wasn't my issue. Something was obviously amiss when others are using the latest official drivers without Track IR issues, but I had to switch back to the old drivers to get it to work :( System :- i7-12700K 3.6 GHz 12 core, ASUS ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming, 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz, 24GB Asus ROG Strix Geforce RTX 3090, 1x 500GB Samsung 980 PRO M.2, 1x 2TB Samsung 980 PRO M.2, Corsair 1000W RMx Series Modular 80 Plus Gold PSU, Windows 10. Mustang Posted October 2, 2014 Author Posted October 2, 2014 Why don't you try updating the Catalyst to 14.9 or 14.41 for your system and then dropping the opengl dll from the 13.2 into your trackir folder? a bit like another dll injection (hope this makes sense!)

HiJack Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Yes, I just instaleld 14.9 and dropped the atiumd64.dll file from 14.41 in folder "C:\Program Files\ATI\CIM\Bin64\". Have not tested what frames are with this file or without it yet. EDIT: Sniped by Skate :)
*Rage* Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) Install 14.9, and use the 14.41 DLL. Confused. Just updated to 14.9 Youre saying the 14.41 is better? What is a 14.41 DLL? Edit: Nevermind..installed the 14.41 and noticed an FPS boost! Su-27 intercept quick start mission: 14.9 ~47 fps 14.41 ~ 53 fps Since the 14.4 drivers AMD performance has gained about 35% for me in DCS. Bonus :) I still dont get the DLL injection thing though. What is a 14.41 DLL? 14.41 is just the package name, it has components to it that are more advanced/newer than the 14.9 WHQLs, see the parts in bold below for comparison : 14.9 WHQL Build Info: DriverVer=09/15/2014, 14.301.1001.0000 Calayst: 14.9 CCC: 2014.0915.1813.30937 D3D: 9.14.10.01061 OGL: 6.14.10.13084 OCL: 10.0.1573.4 (OpenCL 1.2) Mantle: 9.1.10.0034 Sign Date: September 29 (Microsoft WHQL) 14.41 beta Build Info: DriverVer=09/02/2014, 14.410.0.0000 (the part in bold is the reason for the 14.41 label) CCC: 2014.0902.2157.37601 D3D: 9.14.10.01067 OGL: 6.14.10.13179 OCL: 10.0.1598.5 (OpenCL 2.0 AMD-APP (1598.5)) Mantle: 9.1.10.0034 Mantle API: 94209 the Direct3D portion of 14.41 driver is newer and seems to have much better advances for Direct X9 against the 14.9. Alkaline Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Had AMD 14.9 for a few days now, and frankly, I havent noticed any effect on the performance ingame at all.. Though, AMD 13.12 has been the best driver for DCS so far IMO. Other than that, maybe a loss of 10frames has occured to me. But as I play other games aswell, I manage.. Wished DCS performed better on AMD systems tho... My rig is pretty much a high-end system, yet im limited to Low-high settings in DCS with around 30-40FPS.. Sinks to 10FPS when T/O and landing... It sucks.. :( Is it because DCS doesnt run on DX11? Cuz according to GPU-Z, DCS draws 99% GPU Load and uses up to 2.000MB VRAM sometimes.. (I have 2048MB VRAM) Even BF4 on ultra with 4x MSAA in 1920x1080 needs that much GPU load and VRAM.. X-55 Rhino guide to configure the Mouse Nipple to work as TDC slew! *Rage* Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Im afraid your rig is not high end by any stretch of the imagination. Medium to low I would say. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22

I dont know what kind of lines you draw, but a system with 8 core AMD FX-8320 at 4.6GHz, 8GB 1600MHz RAM, ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 and a R9 270x 2GB at 1100MHz core is a high-end machine. Okay, maybe it's on the edge.. mid-end machine, but if I replace my 270x with 280x 3GB, its defo a high-end machine. I guess that you are one of those who only thinks that Intel qualifyes to be called "High-end", then I wont waste my time on you. Srsly, Mid-low?... Lol, I got no words to say...
