JulienBlanc Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) that didn't help, the aircraft keeps pitching up here it is impossible to do a leveled flight without constantly pushing forward the stick, i dont understand why it is possible... fly at 10.000 ft, at 600km/h ( or whatever constant speed ABOVE stall speed), she'll fly straight as an arrow... As expected, with constant parameters she will fly a constant path. If only one change in parameters occurs ( pitch, speed, density, humidity, temperature, anything ) then this is sufficient to alter the flight path/attitude. As to how much this should ( in terms of realism ) I don't know, but it's definitely possible to fly level! ----------------------------------------------------------------- When taxiing though I haven't yet managed to tip her over as opposed to the F-15, then again their respective gear are entirely different to one-another. Belly landings are great fun, can be done cleanly on leveled ground IE runways, but on terrain it's quite tricky as out of nowhere bumps would appear causing sudden death.. GUMAR Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 who is talking about climbs? I was just saying that to get to altitude youd have to burn some fuel. Ragnarok Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 that is very sad ... saying that because 1) DCS is a flight simulator made in russia 2) Eagle Dynamics is based in Russia 3) Su-27 is a Russian fighterjet so.. since the Su-27 is now +20 years old, most of its data about the flight model and airdynamics should be unclassified, also i really wonder if ED did have access to the a real Su-27 aircraft and did collaborate with REAL Su-27 pilots to handcraft the flight model. .? then why the DCS A-10C came up so good (for its very own class of an aircraft) ??? if it's not the case, then it is very sad.. Slowly, this is bug. “The people will believe what the media tells them they believe.” — George Orwell
nhowell01 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Love the new flight model! You do not have to worry about ground anymore: Well done, that was insane lol!
JulienBlanc Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 sure.. might be a bug etc but now it makes me wonder if DCS does know what is GRAVITY and MASS .... And this is why the module is not available elsewhere than an entirely different install specifically called "Beta" It's shit, and it's a good start can mean the same thing but can come out with entirely different results. archer86 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 in spite of everything that aircraft is awesome and most challenging flight model we have. there are alot of thing to discover. I had never flown an aircraft like this on flightsims. THANK YOU ED!
GGTharos Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 The obvious problem here is that Nikola was able to pull 25g without destroying the aircraft, all of which includes MASS AND GRAVITY in its calculation. So, the high-G damage model is not there yet. That's all there is to it. sure.. might be a bug etc but now it makes me wonder if DCS does know what is GRAVITY and MASS .... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
FlightControl Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 su27 drifting... In my first taxi with the su27 i managed to drift the plane in a 360° swirl. Outragingly impressive!!!! Kwiatek Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Love the new flight model! You do not have to worry about ground anymore: And you do not have to worry about amraams anymore: Yea very nice flight model. Hehe You should make video also with negative pitch when plane go imidetly go on its back. F-15 new FM yes i like it it looks realistic to me but Su 27 actually big no no.

*Rage* Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 27 PFM is the best yet. It just needs the negative pitch = flip on its back issue sorting:) And occasional unrecoverable spin/coma:) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22

Weta43 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I only tried it very briefly 2-3 times, but for me the S key is the equivalent to a "immediate self-destruction"-button. :D Take off, trimming a LOT forward to counter the immense pitch up tendency, hit S key, aircraft immediately JUMPS to a steep dive, instant blackout, crash. I blame not the a/c nor the FM, but only my lack of having the slightest idea what I am really doing there ... :joystick::D if you remove all trim, and have the stick neutral(which may mean you're climbing), you can hit "S" at any speed without exploding the pilot's brain. Cheers.
Weta43 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Did you use the autopilot to keep perfect level? Max speed decreases as fuel load goes down. Ive done the test like 10 times or so just to make sure. This effect can be seen at most altitudes. Admittedly I used my testing build, but this is not what I observed. It was possible to take off, climb to 18,000m - being careful to maintain airspeed during the climb - arriving at 18,000m at about 830km/h IAS),and then have the plane accelerate in level flight as the fuel load went down. I didn't use the AP to stay level (perhaps the AP is the cause your problem ?), I just trimmed to level flight. During the flight the plane reached M2.5 (at about 1/3 fuel load), and then continued to slowly accelerate until at the point the engines cut out it had reached M2.6 (obviously, not something that could be done operationally). Cheers.

Wine Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 (edited) Do any of the ED testers know if we are going to get the option to fly without pylons added to ( the wing of ) the Su27 ? ( What I really desire, for flying displays with this awesome aircraft ... ) Like this example picture: Edited November 7, 2014 by Wine Wine's Skinning Projects
Exorcet Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Can you try removing that module all together and having DCS reload it? You may have to do a complete reinstall of your Open Beta? Nedum Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) Hmm.. the Su27 FM is extrem strange! Today the Su27 was falling down from ~12.000 Meters to ~2.000 meters with the nose to earth and AB @ ~ 280 km/h. And all the time if the Su27 stalls, she flips on the back. If I pull at the stick, there is nearly no response, but after a little time the full input comes in and the Su27 is turning extrem hard and I have again no response with my stick. Compared to the FW190-D and to the F15C the Su27 is flying like an old WW I plane. I can't fly this beauty. marcoacv Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 The datasheet only tells you a couple of numbers, it doesn't tell you how to get there. Extreme performance requires knowledge and technique to achieve in any aircraft. What are the problems with the trimmer, and what's the problem with the rudder? I can use Trimm, the axes are correct, but when I try to lower longer nose trimmer using my joystick will also forwards until the stick goes around the axle travel forward and reaches the stop stick and even then the plane keeps rising and rising. It gets worse between 800km / h and 950km / h then when it reaches 1000km / h the nose is very strong pulling down.
Winfield_Gold Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 reading through this thread is quite amusing, People bagging out the trim and the way the aircraft pulls in 'said' direction How many people on these forums have actually flown the real thing? Only real pilots of this bird should pass the judgment, not keyboard warriors who assume how the bird should handle. When I ask 'flown the real thing' I mean, you took off, flew a pattern and landed. Proof would be video (go pro) with radio coms and spoken english between tower and pilot Anyone who has flown a 210 or similar species of Cessna need not comment. 3
