Can you please explain me how to trim the SU-27?

I have trouble with this plane it need constant trim.

Thank you.

From minute to minute, the biggest source for the need to trim is your airspeed. As your speed increases or decreases, you will need to retrim. So maintaining a constant airspeed will help in that regard. Or, if you are on the long leg of a flight where you don't need to change altitude, engage the "Altitude Hold" function of the AP. It'll make life easier.

Wow, I love this thing! Really fun to fly, and the direct input mode will come in handy in dogfights. I have been flying in unassisted mode for quite a bit and you can pull of some pretty extreme maneuvers - just never push the stick forward, you will flip over and black out before you realize that something went wrong. It is not that hard once you get the hang of it, but maybe that is all that space-plane flying in Kerbals Space Programming finally paying of. They act equally toxic to elevator input.

So thank you for this great plane!

The new FM handles pretty well. Cobras seem sensitive to speed. The first one I attempted was done without issue, but without picking up speed I tried again and ended up on my back. Might also have to do with how well you control your roll too.

The plane seems to require a lot more trim.

Anyone else frustrated regarding high altitude fully loaded stability/performance?

Stability system seems to not help(although it tries and makes it worse - makes the movement slower to react but will let you reach high AoA).

While turning the plane will reach 30+ AoA, stall and fall like a brick, also will let pitch the nose down to fall on your back. The plane is yawing, bouncing and dutch rolling.

Generally its the same instability like at low altitudes but multiplied a few times + ability to reach very high AoA without using the "S".

Is it normal behavior?

Edit: Y axis is very unstable with 50% fuel + full missile load, taking 100% makes Y axis more stable, must be CoG?

But still should stability system preserve from entering cobra like AoA at high altitudes?

Maybe this model could be more close to real...

Oscilating just starts every time I just put autopilot even when stable -> so I can't cruise at high altitude with autopilot, I think this need to be fixed.....

Always trim for the airspeed. If it increases, trim. If it decreases, trim.

Autopilot is not the A key. Use the correct AP key commands.

Any chance it can be removed from the Su-27's Options menu? Might have fewer issues that way.

I'll submit a report requesting same.

I just wish to post my first impression. I know Flanker has issues but TBH:

I have never had so much smile on my face from Flanker flight model update since Flanker 2.03 patch!

Now Flanker PFM made me put aside Super Bug for a while :P

The Crane AFM is very nice and interesting. I like it. Much easier to depart and get into trouble now.

But is there any English documentation of the changes made? Like the changes to the radar etc?

Here is a translation of the Russian SU-27SK manual in two parts. Formatted to .pdf from Word. Original formatting was a bit rough and the translation is not 100% but it's better than attempting to read Russian :D

OK, now I get it. It's for the SK version. It explains why it doesn't look like a professionally prepared manual for military equipment.

It's going to be a good lecture. Any news on the ED's manual for the module?

I thought the manual was already there, was reading it last night.

F:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Doc.

Some question that we are all asking where answer there.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

That's what I said. Also said it was originally transcribed to Microsoft Word :)

In any event, if you want the factory-fresh RU manual, here we go:

Yeah, it was a mistake on my part. I simply thought SK was indeed the basic 80's variant. As for the 'quality'. I didn't specifically mean the form, rather the content. There's no way in hell this could be a manual of Central or Eastern European origin. I'm not saying anyone claimed it was. I'm just explaining my initial

BTW, there's a lot of resource lurkers on ED. I wish one they all of them would dump all of their collections into one place :sly:
