Lots of 3D model changes and stuff

As in: optimised and FPS-friendly?

I know SimHQ missions encountered this bug alot.

Are you trying to connect to a server that isnt updated yet?

 

On that note., is it possible to include version number column in the server list as a feature?

I know a few servers that still run older versions an stuff.

On that note.. How hard would it be to include version number column in the server list as a feature?

I know a few servers that still run older versions an stuff.

 

Probably harder than a server running a non release version to put the version number in the name :P

no update

 

Hi guys

 

I launch DCS and no update comes on to install...even used the DCS Updater but same stuff..

 

the version I have installed is 1.2.11.34087

 

is this update not intended for my version?

Current update is for the Open Beta install, regular release will come later.

Gotcha.. I think they do but they still have people that join without reading.

 

Thats why i threw the idea in there or a "version mismatch" error of some kind.

happens to me alot as I update quicker than the server hosts do. So I join then with a newer version., or they try to conect to me with an older version.

Ahhh Ded. Server tools..

I have a 150/100 mbit line at home waiting (tests at 180/112 in off hours abd 154/96.during peak).

what happens when the bridge is blown up while units go across this been tested?

 

Tested with AI convoy and they come to a halt as soon as the bridge is blown up. Didn't test how one would move on from there as ground commander with the group split up by the river.

Tested with AI convoy and they come to a halt as soon as the bridge is blown up. Didn't test how one would move on from there as ground commander with the group split up by the river.

 

Just did some more testing and something still seems to be very strange with that.

 

As soon as the bridge blows up (triggered explosion), the units that were standing on the now destroyed part of the bridge are placed below the surface at an altitude of 0 feet. The path gets deleted as soon as the bridge is blown up.

If a new path is set, very strange things happen, as can be seen in the following screenshot (never seen a 2D vulcan before :D). Units are flickering all over the place, on the bridge, in the water and below the map at 0 altitude. BUT, even though the placement seems to be all messed up, the units somehow manage to get across and follow the new given path, so at leas they didn't get completely stuck.

 

I don't know if this special case was supposed to be fixed too. Anyways this is a huge improvement since it is possible to cross bridges without getting completely stuck.

Ah, didnt know there was something wrong with that too, so then its definitely referring something else.

I am sure for the units on a destroyed bridge to re-route, it requires a new AI logic. The logic of self preservation and almost a GPS system that would make path making redundant. Ideally, if there was a GPS ability for AI units, they can automatically re-route from the destroyed bridge to a different path... alternate bridge etc. Not to mention, if you destroy too many units in the platoon, they can bug out, and or hide bear buildings, in forests. But I think that is a big big job for ED to implement that.

Is there another beta installer download somewhere? The one from the main site doesn't work.

 

Having the same issue still as well :( A friend DLed off the site and it worked just fine though.

Bummer the Su-27 trim hasn't been fixed yet. This plane is close to unflyable IMHO. Full trim nose down and I still have to push my stick forward even further to stay level. MS FFB2 with FFB activated, of course, every axis totally linear. Didn't test without FFB yet, but I highly suspect my problem is linked to the FFB trim mechanics somehow as I don't see others complain :D

 

That put aside (as well as the MiG-21 double trim), the changelog looks great, quite something happened, which is always good :)

I use a msffb2 with the flanker and have no problem with trim. Do you have "Swap axis" checked in FF tune?

I don`t know is it FC3 bug or MiG21... and no bug thread for this release yet. MiG has landed but no gears.
