Ceep calm guys. Okay we'll probably wont get the C-101 this Weekend but let's face it, when the time comes it'll be a great time. I can live with it, if it's out on Monday.

Cheers ;)

Are you kidding me? Did you look at the first post in this thread?

That shows the scheduled release date. Nowhere does it say "Promised"...

I see, maybe you just don't know the definition of the word or how it's used in a sentence. My original post stands on it's own and is, as always a forum post is, my 2 cents.

I really dont think developers are having fun when they cant have a product ready in time, no one is benefiting with delays, but if its delayed 2 or 3 days we should all patiently wait, another thing is if it took an extra month, then it would be a torture and i could understand people getting upset, but, come on...... A couple of days is understandable, programing is always full of bugs, we should all know that!

Indeed. I think giving a precise date in the first place is a mistake, just like telling a release is "imminent" or "very very soon" days after an already missed deadline.

In my line of work I have to meet deadlines, if I don't I loose the contract, if I know it's going to be hard to honor a deadline I refuse to give any precise date and stick to best estimates and I certainly don't use words such as "imminent" or "very very soon" but rather "in the next few days" or "during the week". Just food for thoughts.

An another note, please don't confound impatience with enthousiasm nor put both crowd in the same basket, these are two very different sentiments.

Just my two cents :)

Last minute problems... everyone in the software business have suffered them (and will).

I read somewhere a good analogy about programing:

Programing is like riding a bicycle... but the bicycle is on fire, you are on fire and everything is on fire.

Just chill out guys, I'm sure we will have a lot of fun with this bird shortly.

A couple of days ago we completed the project and it was sent to Eagle Dynamics for them to create the installer and do final testing (as part of our license agreement). The installer is now done, and once final testing is complete, it will be released. We expect this to happen soon. Thank you for your patience.

The summit is almost there.;)

It's a beta, so I would keep my expectations low and be pleasantly surprised by whatever they do put out with it. That's been the norm with all of the modules.

You're encouraging lack of promised product delivery? This is perhaps one of the most understanding and adult communities and it keeps getting abused because of it. Understanding that unforeseen things can happen is one thing but saying things like this is less than helpful. Not living up to promises is a negative (even if it's slight or because of some partner etc) not a positive.

I've been exceedingly impressed by AvioDev's communication with the community. That said, have you forgotten that you're a consumer? Does your money really mean so little? I hope the problems that 3rd party developers seem to keep having integrating with ED get worked out soon. And as I don't know anything about the process involved I'm careful not to assign blame but when it comes down to it something was promised and not delivered. If you or I don't deliver in our jobs we are held to blame regardless of the circumstances.

Sure would have been nice to use the weekend, when most people have time off, to purchase and fly as was expected.

With what you have said being fair, I am just looking at the situation optimistically. I do many things on my available weekends and with the sun shining and the C-101 not out yet, I'm able to make the most of it! This isn't a huge development company releasing big titles so you would think one would have some understanding on a delay.

A lot of forum talk should be taken with a grain of salt! All the best.

It's not about beeing more forgiving for not meeting the self targeted deadline. It's about proper planning and quality control. If your deadline is 15th and a third party (in this case ED) has to create installer and do some checks too, you simply have to be done at 12th. It's not only you who needs some buffer for things going wrong, third party needs them too.

And it's not that planning gets easier the more people are involved. In fact it's getting harder the bigger the team is.

In my point of view some critisicm is appropriate and I'm confident that this won't happen AvioDev again.

We will see what next week brings to us...

If I would like to fly SFM I could get it for free at World of Warplanes.

You only need 2 of the following 3: Altitude - Speed - Skill

Yeah, you are right, but you should understand that this is his first release! They made an amazing work, and this mistake is understandable and of course, it's not critical.

The key here is learn about the mistakes of this release and never repeat the mistakes of the past.

This is not the first mod to have a late release, so have patience and understanding ladies and gentlemen. If you've been around DCS long enough, you should understand this is the usual thing to happen with every module and its necessary for a better product release. Complaining about it here has never made a mod be released quicker.

Hi,

i have a question, i know the latest open beta version is to support the c-101 module. But how does anyone test the open beta properly if you can't even purchase the module yet?

is the open beta then really only for the Developers and ED Testers in this case?

It prepares DCS:W so that later the flyable module can be installed without problems. My understanding is, that basically the AI version of the aircraft is now implemented. That is all, as far as I understand it.

Here's an idea: we'll delay release until the the CC and the AFM are totally finished, then we'll release...

The comments are going downhill. Please keep it considerate. We know you are eager to get your hands on the C-101, but we have done what we can.

Thank you for your support, and we hope that some time today you can hit the "DOWNLOAD" button! :D 8)

Best regards,

Tango.
