One day in DCS... Vipers will fly along side Tomcats... Bugs with Superbugs, Tiffy's with Tornado's, Fulcrums with Flankers and Mirage with Rafales...

:)The Future of DCS is a bright one:)

The stick has a pinkie switch for Pilot Lock-on mode, AP override paddle, weapon selector and possibly some countermeasures buttons.

The throttle has speedbrake controls, a button for NWS, and a four-pos switch for wing sweep. Up is Auto mode, Down is Bomb mode, and fore-aft are manual control (You can't sweep more forwards than the sweep recommended by Auto mode at that speed though, you have to use the Emergency sweep lever on the right of the throttle). There's some more buttons on the throttle but I can't find any info of them, and I don't know where I put the NAVAIR manual.

I have a thread on this sub where I uploaded the f14a navair manual, AFAIK it's pretty complete

There are plans for WH compatible grips.

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Fixed that for you :music_whistling:

Awesome :) Was eyeing the progress on your sticks, but was skeptical about investing heavily in yet ANOTHER expensive flight stick like the WH as the throttles seem to be having a nasty habit of dying out suddenly. The X-55 might be a cheaper choice, although I hate the fact it doesn't come with the 4th hat on the flight stick like the X65 does. Feels like a cheap cop-out.

X-55 is probably my next stick investment, unless some money-grabbing company decides to release a genuine Tomcat inspired HOTAS :P

I think it depends on what other sticks you've used. Its good compared to the x52 but its bad compared to the Warthog. I would say if you can find it on special, its worth it.

X-55? Really? that would be great!!!

Now I don't have to get rid of my modded X-55:

And I didn't have to design or used 3D printed parts. The whole extension was made using 3/4", 1/2",1", 1-1/4" PVC pipes and fittings plus some heat to bend the shaft and a motortool to drill a couple of holes to the PVC parts. No alteration or damage to the structure of the original stick whatsoever. The X-55 green spring is strong enough for this 14" extension. The intrusive part was having to cut and splice the 8 cables that run from the stick to the base with longer cables.

The best part is that I don't have that annoying stick twist anymore since I use rudder pedals.

OK, that is superb and something I have been after creating for ages!

Any chance of doing a little instructable style guide on how to go about making that extension?

Cheers,

Is the X-55 worth it ? I'm on a modded X-52 right now, and I've seen two camps on the Rhino, either it's amazing, or it's amazingly shit

It's a matter of perspective mostly I think. If you are looking for something that feels like a real plane, the X-55 isn't it. If you are looking for an excellent PC joystick with a lot of features and good quality, then the X-55 is equal to or better than a WH.

Love my X-55... would literally throw money at a Tomcat-style stick for it!

Sooooo, let's say my Warthog breaks (which is quite likely gonna be sooner than later I'm afraid) Should I get the X-55 then as a replacement and fit it with this Adapter thing rather than getting another warthog HOTAS?

Break in which way? If it's the PCB, you can get a replacement one which seems to be the cheapest option.
