No ashtrays?

Ha! That exactly. No wonder my ciggie droppings are all over the cockpit floor. The hell do I have to _DO_ to get the ground crew off their lazy butts & clean UP fergadssakes???

Dunno... there's a couple outstanding English CP mods however. Using the Vasilissa one myself.

I believe that apart from the bombsight, after last updates everything in cockpit is implemented and clickable now, even if it doesn't make sense (defroster!). So it's even better than non-beta ED modules, which always have a couple of systems not modelled. The bombsight was advertized as "not implemented" from the beginning, so I'm not crazy about it. Door guns and whatnot were always in community wishlist category rather than actual devs plans.

Apart from obvious lack of both rotor heads animations, unfinished gunsight removal feature and somewhat drunk performance of AI engineer while adjusting autopilot, I can't think of anything missing in this chopper right now.

Ah, the updated and properly translated manual would come in handy, I agree.

The swashplate? I think that's animated, is it not?

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Dunno mate can't see it from pilots seat;)

That's always been my reaction to this particular 'bug'.

You can only see it from outside, and only if you zoom in on the rotor-head, and only be sure of the problem if you slow the simulation down enough to see the components moving.

Nice to have sorted one day, but a LONG way down the list of "this sim isn't finished until this gets fixed" list...

I'd rather have the cords and cables in the cockpit flex with cockpit orientation and movement than have the swashplate animated... (or have the crew sway & lean their heads as the aircraft experiences lateral "G")

Cheers.

I would really like to see door gunners be added with the ability to use either the PKM or AGS-17A. I also am aware that Belsimtek that there will not be a nose gun in the MI 8 but I hope they would reconsider.

According to the information I've found the release day of Mi-8 was Sept 2013... (at least according to Steam). It’s almost 3 years later and the module is still in Beta.

Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic module, one of my most favorite but seriously, keeping beta status for almost 3 years?

F/A-18, F-16, F-14, M-2000C, A-10C, AV-8B, AJS-37 Viggen, F-5E-3, F-86F, MiG-21bis, MiG-15bis, L-39 Albatros, C-101 Aviojet, P-51D, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, Bf 109 4-K, UH-1H, Mi-8, Ka-50, NTTR, Normandy, Persian Gulf... and not enough time to fully enjoy it all

Its a long time yes, but it sounds like your enjoyment of the module hasnt been effected at all.

I would rather say that it would be possible to fully enjoy this (otherwise already great) module if it would be completed and as far as there are no official deadlines for how long the Beta status could be kept 3 years is still a long time.

True, however it would be nice to see more forward progress.

There was a time a couple of months ago, when updates for it were coming almost on weekly basis. Not anymore - it's almost like all BST are desperately working lately on F-5E. Oh well, let's see what happens after that release. Mi-8 seems to be indeed very, very close to being finished. Just needs a little push!

Mil Mi-8 MTV is very good module. I think that is missing in the cockpit windshield wipers moving. Bell UH-1 also has a moving blade. I agree with removable rear door. It would fix the texture of the main rotor during engine shutdown. Rotor optically accelerating and decelerating.

What do developers .. :)

3 years without a manual (yes, i know we got a draft version) is an issue that did affected my enjoyment of this module. I am pretty sure I am missing a lot of features just because I never had he documentation telling me if this is actually working on the DCS version. We have almost all the IRL doc, but i really want to have the official one telling me what every knob is doing in he module or not doing.

+1. I would really like the developer to post a roadmap of planned changes and additions between now and the full release of the module.
