Drona Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Probably this http://www.janes.com/article/63822/russian-carrier-based-su-33-fighters-receiving-new-bombing-computer/ I think you mean SU-30 Yes, I mean the new SVP-24 system https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3044223&postcount=2 As you can see, there's a new MFD installed.
rrohde Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 I too am curious as to the extent of these FM changes, if they represent a complete overhaul to PFM or an incremental improvement towards PFM. Wouldn't be disappointed either way, but it would help when describing it to others. +1 PC: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X | MSI Suprim GeForce 3090 TI | ASUS Prime X570-P | 128GB DDR4 3600 RAM | 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD | Win10 Pro 64bit Gear: HP Reverb G2 | JetPad FSE | VKB Gunfighter Pro Mk.III w/ MCG Ultimate VKBcontrollers.com
Dudikoff Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 (edited) I think it's pretty safe to assume that the Su-27 PFM is used as a base and further adapted for the Su-33. I also hope those antennas on the new Kuznetsov model will be lowered before take-off :) Edited July 7, 2017 by Dudikoff i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg. Texac Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 By now the text has been updated by Wags it states the addition of the PFM and adaptations that make the Su-33 carrier-capable. - My Skins/Liveries - Improved F-16C Texture Template • Texac on YouTube •
rrohde Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Indeed! I also hope those antennas on the new Kuznetsov model will be lowered before take-off :) Haha i was thinking exactly the same. Very nice update on the SU-33. I think i will fly this mainly when i have to choose 33 or 27. After SU-27 and F-15 PFM i totally ditched the SU-33 and MIG-29. The most interesting to me are the "over power" feature with engine limitations and the terrain avoidance system for nap of the earth flying. Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.

laugen Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Not to be a party pooper, but it does not seam like complete pfm. I'm trying to land on one wheel and it kind of just lock onto place. Anyway, love the improvements so far, great stuff.

laugen Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 If the pfm is not released yet then disregard, my bad.
Alfa Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 The most interesting to me are the "over power" feature with engine limitations and the terrain avoidance system for nap of the earth flying. Indeed. The "emergency thrust" mode briefly raises the AFB thrust by 300 kgf per engine - its meant for providing safe(unassisted) take-off from the carrier and recovery(e.g in case of a "bolter") . The MiG-29K has it too - at least the old version(9.31) did. JJ
probad Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 If the pfm is not released yet then disregard, my bad. it's not. it would be logical to see this feature necessitated by the f/a-18 -- more specifically, the improved carrier mechanics. i expect it will likely get implemented with or at least close to the f/a-18 release.

That makes sense. I was hoping to get a taste of it thought, not just the avionics bit.
DaveRindner Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 With all due respect to skill and professionalism of RuN Naval aviators, there is one job that is scarier then being a RuN Kuz based aviator. That is being the IP on Kuz. air wing tasked with training and qualifying new SU-33, Mig-29K, or SU-25UKB aviators. Dear G*d, some of those SU-25UKB traps looked terrifying. That and the ship and landing area is so much smaller then US Nimitz class. Even in DCS it looks tiny.

It would be really nice if we would get that 33 PFM and Kuz DLC rather soon; need something to tie us over until the next DCS highlight. Esac_mirmidon Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 It seems the floating planes over pitching deck is not solved. Im´not sure if this is related to the Su-33 PFM or to the new Aircraft Carriers modules. I can´t imagine a F-18 or a Su-33 still floating over the deck with a PFM. " You must think in russian.." Texac Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 On the third screen you can see the landing gear touching the carrier deck. I think it just looks like the aircraft is floating over the carrier from this angle. - My Skins/Liveries - Improved F-16C Texture Template • Texac on YouTube •
rrohde Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Wonder if these lights will be implemented then as well: PC: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X | MSI Suprim GeForce 3090 TI | ASUS Prime X570-P | 128GB DDR4 3600 RAM | 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD | Win10 Pro 64bit Gear: HP Reverb G2 | JetPad FSE | VKB Gunfighter Pro Mk.III w/ MCG Ultimate VKBcontrollers.com
Texac Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 I guess to model the carriers accurately systems like these must be implemented. But that's another story about the carriers. - My Skins/Liveries - Improved F-16C Texture Template • Texac on YouTube •

The Black Swan Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 So this stable flight thing for AAR is very interesting to me. Is it an autopilot mode that is just used for AAR or was it made specifically for AAR? GeForce GTX 970, i5 4690K 3.5 GHz, 8 GB ram, Win 10, 1080p

I'd expect before, therefore it can be tested properly so by the time the F/A-18 does launch, it'll be one less piece of the puzzle ED have to worry about. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
Esac_mirmidon Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 (edited) They are floating following the deck movement. So there is a moment when the wheels are touching the deck because the Su-33 is in a fixed position relative to the carrier, and the carrier is the one moving up and down. So is touch-floating-touch-floating. In this screen is also floating. Edited July 7, 2017 by Esac_mirmidon " You must think in russian.." Flogger23m Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Looking very forward to this update. Please release an FC3 F/A-18C to! If any 3rd party dev wants to do FC3 quality modern fighters I am ready to purchase. :) Also interesting to note the new MFD, but I assume this update will carry over the same pre-2016 variant.
