Those Mi-8 shots look a little ... obscene. :music_whistling:

She's like a mating dragon fly. But hey, kudos to the pilot! Damn good flying. I'm assuming the train was in motion.....

Seems as if the train wheels are still not 100% aligned with the track texture, there are no rail-road crossing signs or lights, and the AI road traffic probably won't stop, but hey, being picky here. Awesome screenshots and a very talented pilot. :)

now i wonder if the schedules are fixed and if they will respond as a map object under the mist script?

please please please give us a way to receive feedback that they are damaged.... it would make a behind lines enemy train hunt soooo much fun. are the tunnel object lod fixed too now?

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Don't think I've actually ever tested it. I think it'll depend on whether or not traffic is considered to be "scenery objects" or at least return an object with event handlers.

The question? It is a schedule for every train line? Will be great, then could be possible trigger a accion by time.

From what I have observed, if a train is spotted during a mission it will be in the same place when the mission is rerun. I will investigate whether they are on a timetable. I have seen them do a U turn at a station too and go back the way they came:)

Here you can see the Locomotive destroyed by direct hit. The train have been stuck, also you can see the event initiator of the Locomotive is a number.

The second pic show the train destroyed by landmines. this mines was triggered to explode after I kill the infantry. I did at the moment of the passing train. This is a good idea to simulate Landmines in several ways.

We can make a trigger with this number??

Nice flying....hum I never noticed until I saw these pictures that the road goes over the rails, shouldn't it be the other way around.

Is Russian train. Ivan say it good, no problem.

Ok I did some testing and here is what I have found so far.

At the station at Ahtyrskiy in grid DK46 the trains run as follows (if someone can replicate so we see its not client based)

Trains pass the railway 12.05, 13.03, 13.14, 14.12, 14.24 Some go west some go east

It appears that traffic objects cannot be grabbed. While they do produce events there is no initiator value on death, nor target value when hit. I tried various versions of world.searchObjects yielding no results for the trains themselves.

Trains that are parked at stations can be grabbed as they are considered to be "world objects" and are part of the game world.

All things considered I'm not sure which will happen first, traffic objects becoming accessible or trains as actual moving units with AI that you can place in the editor.

Well about 7 years ago before DCSW in BS you could land on trains and I kept trying ever since;)

Thanks to Glowing Amraam :)

See my first picture. I see the Locomotive have an initiator number. Maybe only this model of locomotive do like initiator. There are two locomotive models

That is worth looking into.

While looking for trains, I checked whether or not the yellow buses serve as a mobile landing platform (as I'm sure they did some time during the BS1-days). I guess the answer currently is "no"...

I did and if you cant get that value from scripting functions then it is useless in game. Also when I tested it the initiator number was 0 in the debrief screen. It could very well be down to the trains that were targeted but I'm not sure how likely that is.
