dartuil Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Hello if i buy a model on here : http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-model/vehicle/airplane/page/4?keyword=&application_ids=1 And build a team on this model making a full dcs plane , will I get refused 3rd party statue? Volantis Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I don't think you realise the amount of work being put behind each plane. It requires a good understanding of the DCS modeling tools, and a perfect knowledge of the plane - not just a good 3D model. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] French Murage Pilot
will- Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 really opened question, you surely can buy that model and build a team and get it working in DCS and become a 3rd party dev. can you buy the model and get a team and become a 3rd party dev, no. Huge difference and good luck! Intel i9-9900K 32GB DDR4, RTX 2080tiftw3, Windows 10, 1tb 970 M2, TM Warthog, 4k 144hz HDR g-sync.
TaliG Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) It would be really cheaper (at the end) and hustle free to hire a prof 3d modeler to build an external and a cockpit model to DCS standards from scratch, than buy a ready one and tweak it to death until it looks nice inside DCS 3d engine... GOOD LUCK!!! dartuil Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 Yes I mean hire a good 3d modeler and tweak it like crazy to work on DCS. I have time and money but no team. i7 2600k -- Noctua NH-D14--Asrock Z75 Pro3--ASUS GTX970 Strix --16Go Ripjaws X 1333--Thermaltake Smart M650--CoolerMaster Silencio 652S--AOC E2752VQ-- Sandisk Extreme II 480GB--Saitek X-52 Pro --SAITEK PZ35 Pedals
cichlidfan Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Hire the team first. Let the modeling expert decide what is best for his part of the project. alieneye Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 turbosquid models are not game ready. there is a lot of restrictions and specific features in game dev so you will have to retopo the model from scratch :) YouTube || Copycats - technology and product clones (primarily aviation) || dgrigoriev.com SPECS: i7 8700K (OK 5GHz), 2xGTX 3080ti, 64GB RAM, 1Tb SSD, WIN 10, 2560x1440, Oculus Rift CV1 || TM Warthog, TIR5, MFG Crosswind pedals

dartuil Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 Can't wait for your Airbus A-320 module! WAIT more for F-16C. :D So Ok I give up turbosquid and go from scratch! i7 2600k -- Noctua NH-D14--Asrock Z75 Pro3--ASUS GTX970 Strix --16Go Ripjaws X 1333--Thermaltake Smart M650--CoolerMaster Silencio 652S--AOC E2752VQ-- Sandisk Extreme II 480GB--Saitek X-52 Pro --SAITEK PZ35 Pedals
joey45 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 WAIT more for F-16C. :D So Ok I give up turbosquid and go from scratch! That's the best option. Probably save time as well. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
