Conroy Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Be patient guys, we'll have it with the first Nevada (DCS 2.0) update i think. So is a good thing because we could fly the Mirage in an improved engine (debugged at least). Would have been nice have also the new sky & clouds but....it's ok. Mirage is close, we can wait some days. ...Friday?
Brisse Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 (edited) Pre-ordering gives you a discount compared to the price 'on release'. If you know you'll buy a module anyway you might as well pre-order it and get it cheaper. I know about the discount, but here's a twist: Pre-order discount is 20%. As long as that applies you cannot use your bonus points. However, if you wait until the discount goes away, you can use your bonus point's to get a 30% discount, so there's really no point in pre-ordering ;) Edit: Unless you desperately want to support the developers. That's a legit reason for pre-ordering :) Edited December 14, 2015 by Brisse
OnlyforDCS Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Well sometimes people do it to support the developers. I agree with you on the other points though, I usually never pre-order stuff the only exception being DCS where I will pre-order a module I want if I know that the module in development will ship with an EFM or AFM+. Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.
TheKrayTwin Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 You only get 20% off from bonus points not 30%? But I see what are saying, same price. ----------------------------------------------------- [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Brisse Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 You only get 20% off from bonus points not 30%? But I see what are saying, same price. I'm pretty sure it's 30%, at least it was when I bought the NTTR map two seconds after the pre-order discount disappeared. I saved ~5$ by NOT pre-ordering NTTR. :pilotfly:
Corrigan Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Depends on how many bonus points you have, obviously. Win10 x64 | SSDs | i5 2500K @ 4.4 GHz | 16 GB RAM | GTX 970 | TM Warthog HOTAS | Saitek pedals | TIR5
TheKrayTwin Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 (edited) http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/bonus_rules/ Says 20% basic rate so I always thought it was 20% but not sure what is considered as basic. Edited December 14, 2015 by TheKrayTwin ----------------------------------------------------- [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Brisse Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/bonus_rules/ The rules are slightly confusing. I understand it looks like it's 20%, but that is what you receive in bonus points when buying a module. Try adding a module to your cart and go to the checkout page. Click the pay with internal account button to see how much bonus points you can use. I did this with the L-39C just now to double check, and it takes it down to 35$ from 50$ which is 30%.
il_corleone Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Well, I finish my finals tomorrow, RAZBAM, I don`t see a better day than the pure 15th :D :D :D

Fudge Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Razbam generally do updates on Facebook for DCS on Wednesdays. It makes sense to me that they would announce the date on a Wednesday (news day) then hold off till a Monday for release. Any issues that way they should have staff on hand in the office. With next week being Christmas however...

il_corleone Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I think (And hope) that it will be tomorrow or Thursday, and in the Wednesday the info about the release and further work

jojo Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Tomorrow or next week it's still December... Pre-order or use bonus after beta release...who cares ? It's your call, do what you want. No one force you to buy now... I prefer to wait for a good release than to rush premature one. Anyway it will be BETA. So you can expect still a long way to go. See for how long others modules are in beta state ! My 2 cents... Mirage fanatic ! Corrigan Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I don't mind betas, as long as they don't do a Belsimtek and keep it in beta for years as what seems to be an excuse to leave it unfinished and make other things. We do not have our products on beta for too long. 6 months is stretching it. As for the date, there are several variables that prevent us from giving a specific one. It is close but more than that I cannot say. Also, the release do not depend only on us but must conform to ED's marketing plans. But be assured that unless something big happens, the release of the open beta is near. So far, the Universe is winning." "The three most dangerous things in the world are a programmer with a soldering iron, a hardware type with a program patch and a user with an idea."
Brisse Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 must conform to ED's marketing plans Yea, I had a feeling after the last newsletter that it wouldn't happen that weekend. Wouldn't be surprised if the next newsletter focus on the Mirage though, maybe conveniently timed together with a release the same day or shortly after.

Brisse Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 So mid december is off or what exactly is going on. He didn't say that. Mid december would be this entire week and weekend which has barely started yet. :)
Greekbull Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 It sounds like everything is finished for the Beta release and is likely in ED's hands to release to us...in which case it would be out of Razbam's control. I'm just speculating and reading between the lines but that would be normal. If that's the case my guess is Friday with a ED update. Guess we'll see. Thanks for the update Zeus! flyingscotsman Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 At the risk of being boring, it'll be out when it's out, it's a multitude of factors that cause delays. It will not be perfect, but we will fly it and LOVE IT, I'm sure. We just have to be patient...as long as it's not as long as NTTR took, lol
il_corleone Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Well, all point to this week as release date, probably near the weekend, followed or just before the Newsletter talking about it
