scotth6 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) Hi, I think every time I have played a mission over the past week or so and exited I get a ctd error (DCS World has stopped working..........). Everything seemed ok before this, so I'm not sure if a recent update is to blame. The faulting application and module is DCS.exe. I just installed V2 alpha on the 11th January, but I'm pretty sure this problem started before then, around a week or so ago. I mentioned it in another recent post. I tried just loading up the game and exiting, and there was no problem, it only seems to be after playing any mission. Here are the two Windows error logs from tonight. scotth6 Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 Sure thing, I will attach it now. I haven't changed anything in a while, so whatever was written from the past crashes should still be there. I'm not actually sure now if has happened every time, I may have played some Mirage 2000 missions a few times without the crash occurring, but it has happened a few times now. Cheers,Logs.zip

AG-51_Razor Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I have been getting the same message, most of the time after having been working in the Mission Editor. Where do I find crash logs? This "problem" has not affected anything done while in the Mission Editor, nor has it posed any other issues or problems with DCS that I am aware of. It's just an anomaly that is unusual. This is for DCS 1.5 EDIT: Never mind about the logs, I saw in a couple of posts above where they are located. I will get mine zipped up and sent off to you guys. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

scotth6 Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 Last night I played a mission with the Mirage, but this time I made sure I was online, because the ctds seemed to be when I played offline (the last few anyway). When I ran DCS World 1.5, the updater updated itself, although I don't think any changes were made to the program itself. This time there was no ctd when I exited. Could the problem be related to playing missions when offline, or even something to do with creating or editing profiles when offline?
scotth6 Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 Update. I just had another crash. This time I was online, and DCS World Updater updated on startup again. I played a free flight mission in the Mirage and that was ok. I was also editing controls as I just installed a HOTAS warthog and Saitek rudder pedals today, so I was making a start on configuring controls for these. Only edited a few controls for Mirage 2000 and A-10C. I was just getting towards the end of the A-10C tutorial 1, the overview, and I got the same error message as above and DCS World crashed to desktop. This time the faulting module was "FMBase.dll, version: 1.5.2.48726" I will attach the current logs folder as well as a copy of the Windows error log text. Cheers,Logs.zipDCSWorld_CTD_160116.txt

Hobelschmied Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Same here Hello, I've registered to the forums as I'd like to join the discussion. I'm getting CTDs since the update to DCS 1.5 always when I change any settings and exit the settings tab and always when I exit the game in general. Also Windows is telling me that the DCS.exe is not responding on game startup and mission startup. On game startup I just ignore the message and wait 5 seconds until the game loads properly, the same goes for mission startup, where I have to wait 30 seconds until the mission is loaded. The progress bar always hangs while loading ground textures. I hope my log will provide some helping information to fix the problem. Don't wonder why the log lists only 3 cores, I'm using an AMD processor with a CMT architecture and listing each module as a core and then sending two threads to each "core" is the only way Windows can properly address all 6 cores.Logs.zip

scotth6 Posted February 1, 2016 Author Posted February 1, 2016 I haven't had one for a few days, but I just had another CTD on exit. It seems to be any time I do anything more than 1 mission. Tonight I just did 2 A-10C training missions in a row and got the CTD. Just about every other time over the past week I have played just one mission and exited the program with no CTD. I will attach my updated logs zip file. Cheers,Logs_SH_010216.zipDCSWorld_CTD_010216.txt

Drona Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Same thing happens with me as well. Sometimes it does not occur, sometimes it does. I wonder if its RAM related? I have the minimum 8 GB. What about everyone else?
HiJack Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 If you wait 20 seconds after exiting the mission before pressing exit you will not crash. Count to 20 seconds before pressing any of the exit buttons. DCS is not finished closing down logs or objects if you are to quick.
AtaliaA1 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 If you wait 20 seconds after exiting the mission before pressing exit you will not crash. Count to 20 seconds before pressing any of the exit buttons. DCS is not finished closing down logs or objects if you are to quick. That sounds plausible. I wonder if that is the reason the tracks get borked sometimes. This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. Griphos Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 That solution (waiting 20 seconds) doesn't work for me. Since the last update (the large one), my game CTD every time I exit. I've opened a support ticket but am not getting any real support (after providing all logs). Has anyone figured out what is causing this? I never have had this issue before. I'd like to know what steps to take to remedy it.
Highwayman-Ed Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Interestingly, mine CTD's when using a monitor (for mission building), but when I use my Oculus it doesn't...
