Holton181 Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 For some reason, when I try to switch my 1.5.8 to the Open Beta, regardless if it is from command prompt or GUI app, I get: "The installed version 1.5.8.12823.414 is up to date". I get the same info popup if I try to switch to release. Seems I am unable to switch to the Open Beta for unknown reason.Because they are the same... Try first to revert back to an earlier 1.5.8 release, guess it only has to be the one before latest to get minimum change, then update to the beta 1.5.8.12823.414. Might work. Astronut Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 Without wanting to sound stupid, how do you take a screenshot from the mirror when DCS is running (and the focused app) ?
Gearbox Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 Apologies if this was answered earlier in the 36-page thread, but when I quit out of it it doesn't retain the paths of the installed DCS versions the next time I open it. I didn't see a save button anywhere though.
SkateZilla Posted January 24, 2018 Author Posted January 24, 2018 (edited) Apologies if this was answered earlier in the 36-page thread, but when I quit out of it it doesn't retain the paths of the installed DCS versions the next time I open it. I didn't see a save button anywhere though. It should save automatically to a file in your /Users/AppData/Local/Skate_Zilla_Graphics_Stud/<APP NAME>/<VERSION>/user.config and load it automatically. Try Running as admin, but verify it's saving that file. I'm still trying to find the source of the user.config error that some users are getting in the last few builds, I cant seem to isolate it, as I don't have the problem on my testing systems. SkateZilla Posted January 24, 2018 Author Posted January 24, 2018 (edited) I have debugged and found the conflicting line of code that causes the user.config .net crash / Settings not being loaded/saved properly (Main Symptom is the App Loads w/ all Highlights active on modules etc etc, after a .net prompt) This should be resolved in the next release version, but that wont be till after 2.5 is released, and will require deleting the previous user.config file (instructions will be included when update is released). Till Then, Use Any Version PRIOR to the Oculus Mirror Option Being added. Dingo_Bob Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Hey SkateZilla, not sure if this was asked yet? Is there any way (other than using OvGME to load a modified option.lua) to have the VR/On & VR/Off buttons choose a different graphics.lua / option.lua depending if you want to run VR or not, currently if running VR it'll load with whatever normal options you use for 2d monitor and FPS will tank if left unattended, so have to go in menus at startup in VR and lower each time the game runs, then turn them back up if/when going back to 2d [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Modules are like Pokemon you gotta catch 'em all :joystick::lol::pilotfly: AMD Ryzen7 3700x, G-Skills 32Gb RAM @ 3200Mhz, MSI GTX1080Ti, TM Warthog (20cm extension by Sahaj), MFG Crosswind Pedals, Oculus Rift, Track Ir5

I may expand the VR/On, VR/Off and SteamVR options to include a similar method, Where user will launch DCS and it will copy a options-VR lua to replace options.lua at launch, and maybe copy back options.lua to options-vr upon closing. That would require expanding the Updater to Monitor the /Saved Games folders for EVERY DCS install. And they will both be updated and packaged together and work together. Holton181 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Future Expansion Plans (not anytime soon but in the works): May I come with a suggestion? Something I never thought of would fit in the usefulness of this app? Merging of logbooks. Not just copy profiles from one to another as new pilots, but actually merge pilots with the same names in different logbooks. Add all different kinds of flight times to each other and campaign progress. Dates like pilot creation the oldest would be selected. Only a friendly suggestion. That would be a useful option for users, but not for this application. Even the options.lua parsing is stretching the application function past it's intended design, but it would allow for more user control over graphics profiles without having to launch dcs numerous times. Depending how testing goes, the options.lua parsing may never be integrated, as there would be many variables to take into account, it's planned, but I'd have to see how it goes functionality wise. RogCamp Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Updating to 2.5 Can your utility be used to update to 2.5? I have Release build 1.5.8.12667 and Open Alpha 2.2.0.12448 installed. I have read the post on the DCS forums on how we are supposed to update many times now and it is still not clear to me what has to be done? I just tried to update my Release build 1.5.8 to the 2.5 open beta but all it wanted to do was update to a newer version of 1.5.8? From their post on the forums about the update they mention 1.5.8 Open Beta not Release Build? So does that mean I can not update to 2.5 open beta? Do I need to update from within DSC once it is running? I am really in need of help understanding what to do. The 30 paged on the forum really did not clarify it for me. Hoping some kind soul can help guide me in the right direction. Thanks

Katmandu Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Great utility, many thanks for making it! The VR/Non Vr switch and being able to easily update to any version from an intuitive GUI is super useful. I've also got one problem: I've updated via this utility to Open Beta 2.5 and everything works perfect there. But, the separate 1.58 install can not run at all and gives this error message Using the repair function in the Utility always repairs the 2.5 despite me choosing the "Custom Build" in the drop menu. Any ideas as to what may have gone wrong with the 1.58?
