Can you give us some blank skins as well, with no national markings on them. It makes creating new skins easier, and I feel a skin session coming on when that beauty arrives.

OK Eddie, I will send you the psd of the skin.

Eddie, could you make a post war RCAF skin? They were quite attractive and would work well for a post war scenario.

Regarding the HE111 skins, when I open up the standard1 skins (all tga files), they are all blank (Gimp shows grey/black checkerboard). When I open the Standard2 skins, I can see the paint job. I then went into the texture file and found many of the TGA files were blank. I have redownloaded the mod and found the same issues. Trying to convert the tga file ends up with a blank DDS file.

If someone has good Standard1 skin (tga or dds files show the same for Standard1 and standard2), please share it with me and any others experiencing the same issues.

Thank you

Caution:

if you change the extension of the individual .tga files you also need to edit the file "description.lua

livery = {

{"Body front", 0, "HE111_Body_Front 2.tga" ,false},

{"Body rear", 0, "HE111_Body_Rear 2.tga" ,false},

{"wing left", 0, "HE111_Wing_Left 2.tga" ,false},

{"wing right", 0, "HE111_Wing_Right 2.tga" ,false},

{"Under", 0, "HE111_Under 2" ,false},

}

name = "Standard 2"

example: {"Body front", 0, "HE111_Body_Front 2.tga" ,false},

change: {"Body front", 0, "HE111_Body_Front 2.bmp" ,false},

Yep, familiar with that Markindel, thanks.

Crazyeddie,

Your TGA files looked the same on my system, but I was able to convert your BMP files to DDS with mipmaps, put them in place, edited the description.lua and all is well now.

Is it possible the TGA files were saved with a different option that would cause the difference between the 2 sets of TGA files? MIP MAP or similar options?

I'm not sure If I saw it somewhere in this thread or not, but how should I set up the B-17 and He-111 in the mission editor, so that they don't go into Saturn-5 mode and climb to the sun on the first contact? Any special waypoints / actions are needed?

i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Try putting the bombers waypoints as flyover points rather than turning points and lock their ETA at the waypoint and see how you go. I have been experimenting and it seems to make them a bit less crazy until the fighter is closer. You may need to adjust the waypoint speed from the default to a slower speed or you may get an error when you try to run/save the mission

A small pack of PBY Skins, uploaded today. 7 skins including the original.

There is no Template for this model so I have just tarted up the original skin and added the Liveries line to the lua.

Read the read me, the lua needs adjusting to allow for Liveries.

They look great Eddie. I have some RAAF PBYs pics somewhere of planes that operated out of Rathmines Lake Macquarie NSW on mine laying runs up into the islands around PNG and the islands north of it. I grew up only a few kms from the base. It was not operating by then but us kids used to play around the old buildings and some of the history soaked in. They are actually doing some reno's on the last of the old structures to create a monument to the people that served at the base and the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society is going to base a PBY there I believe. I'll see if I can find the pics if you think you have time to do skins. Think they are pretty simple from memory as it was really just mostly black as you would expect for night ops

Okay mate, the US Black Cat black skin I did for the skinpack is not very good, I did it very quickly just to see how it looked but the black looks too blue for my taste, so I might have another go at it.

They used to fly them out of Plymouth Sound as well, the base is still there, the hangars are used by sailing clubs etc and the buildings have all but gone but its still got lots of the feel to it. A couple of years ago they landed two PBY's in the sound, sadly one of them hit a mooring buoy on landing and damn near sank, saved in the nick of time.

One of my all time favourite seaplanes. Love Mario's DC3 too, will do some UK invasion skins for that.

Sorry, there was still an error in the damage model.

Need to redo the download, the link is the same as before:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/j203lswi3g172b9/PBY5Catalina.zip

On section User / Download is a new liveries package made by Crazyeddie.

To use these liverie have to add this line:

mount_vfs_liveries_path (current_mod_path .. "/ Liveries")

inside PBY5Catalina_Stonehouse.lua file found inside PBY5Catalina.zip file

I couldn't find the book Eddie, probably it's in a storage box somewhere. Too many books!

Anyway found these samples that might help you do some RAAF skins if you have time. Post war Rathmines one amongst them, I think during the war they were black.

Thanks mate.

A problem with the PBY is the texture stretching behind the bubbles, its really bad so any numbers or cam joint lines gets badly distorted, which is why I have not done any cam on the aircraft body. So, I might just try another Black Cat with smaller decals.

Thanks for the info.
