Captain Orso Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 The what? Normandy??? .... OH THAT :D Must be almost finished. Will probably be out in about... *duh*Duh*duh*DUH!* Two Weeks™ *bah*duhm*tshhhh* I know the ME already has the grass-landing-strips as a structure to be added, although not working and finished yet. I also know that some large forward airfields are going to be on the map. I'm wondering if there will be a way to turn some of these on or off to represent specific points in time. I haven't looked it up, but I don't imaging that they all sprang up all at once on day-x. But really, I am so looking forward to the release, and the Spitfire. NeilWillis Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Any Canadian infantry too? Or Free French? Don't forget they were there too guys, along with a lot of other commonwealth nations and exiles from other conquered nations.

Tanks was show some time ago ;) Spoiler of upcoming news (but not this Friday). As example of new units quality. Captain Orso Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 The Flakpanzer Coelian were never built; not even a prototype. There were only a handful of the PzKpfw-VI Ausf. B Tiger II at Normandy. Far more interesting (and far more common) would be at lease one variants of each of the follwing: PzKpfw-IV: several possible variants Stug-III: several possible variants PzKpfw-V Panther: variants possible SdKfz-251 Half-Track: many possible variants SpFlaK were fairly rare. FlaK on trucks (limbered and unlimbered) would be far more common. I really hate rare equipment contaminating a simulation; might as well play War Thunder 1 When you hit the wrong button on take-off System Specs. MAD-MM Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Coelian is only Paper tank, was only a few Numbers of Ostwind Flak Tanks and Wirbeldwind was actually build Kugelblitz properly one operational Unit, but it is not worth it to make such ground units for DCS. Only units Sd.Kfz with Flak Guns mounted was in larger Numbers on the Battlefield. Once you have tasted Flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your Eyes turned Skyward. Ala13_ManOWar Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 I really hate rare equipment contaminating a simulation; might as well play War Thunder +1 There would be no point at all in wasting even a single minute on Paperwaffe, aircraft, tanks or whatever, German or allied. ""Free"" 2 Play games need a source to make people spend money in "new" stuff, real or not, every now and again so paperwaffe stuff is a gold mine for them, but in a simulator like DCS it makes no sense at all, specially when we are currently lacking even the most usual (and RL) units. Vitormouraa Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 I didn't know that was just a prototype, if I knew that, I wouldn't post that because I agree. I find that SPAAA very cool though. SplashOneGaming Discord https://splashonegaming.com
ED Team NineLine Posted October 6, 2016 ED Team Posted October 6, 2016 I wouldnt be opposed to prototypes if we ever reach a point when we have ever single unit ever produced and ED gets bored and wants more to create :) Beyond historical missions in Normandy, there is nothing wrong with fun missions or fantasy what if missions.... heck a cold war gone hot mission could work in Normandy as well :) Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

Donut Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Beyond historical missions in Normandy, there is nothing wrong with fun missions or fantasy what if missions.... heck a cold war gone hot mission could work in Normandy as well :) I was thinking the same thing and see the F-86 as a great fantasy plane for the Normandy map. It's actually not too far of a stretch to think that the F-86 could have seen service in WWII and just missed it by only a few years. In DCS, the F-86 already has WWII era bombs with the AN-M64. Maybe one of the many talented folks around here can make a few USAAF liveries for the F-86! i5 7600K @4.8GHz | 1080 Ti | 32GB 3200MHz | SSD | DCS SETTINGS | "COCKPIT"
Schmidtfire Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 With lack of proper "jungle" maps like Vietnam or Korea, I guess that Normandy will be a good option for Sabre vs Mig battles (+Meteor and Vampire when released). Late war equipment and a lot of flak guns will help with immersion :)
