funkyfranky Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 I’m away from my computer and I will be till the 19th of July I’m on beta test channel so I have oculus ver 1.27 installed but I have oculus home 2.0 turned off I have my oculus software set to run as administrator and the software doesn’t open when I launch DCS world The last time I tried was 3 days ago and it was working perfectly For me that is not working any more. I'm also on the Oculus beta branch. It was working like a charm but then stopped after some update. Now when setting Oculus home to run as administrator, DCS starts in VR mode, but the screen in the Oculus stays black. gianlu320 Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 For me that is not working any more. I'm also on the Oculus beta branch. It was working like a charm but then stopped after some update. Now when setting Oculus home to run as administrator, DCS starts in VR mode, but the screen in the Oculus stays black. That happened to me as well as discussed also with dburne in another thread on this forum He suggested to turn off oculus home 2 and to turn off beta test channel or whatever is called I did what he suggested and everything went back to normal Then after some time I wanted to see if with the beta version they fixed the “run as administrator thing” and I redownloaded the 1.27 beta version but still keeping home 2 off And it is working I lunch Dcs world, oculus home doesn’t open and when I wear the rift I see the image as normal Don’t know why but it’s like this Sorry not to be able to help more than this but this is exactly what I’ve done
BlacleyCole Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 (edited) FF agreed why have the overhead it would be nice if the OS would open dcs but before it wouldn’t because of the long load times. I’ll have to check the os version settings but run as admin should be set. Edited July 15, 2018 by BlacleyCole BlackeyCole 20years usaf XP-11. DerekSpeare Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Can anyone tell me if the NS430 Navigation popup works in VR? The video I watched about says no, but the product description page is unclear in that it describes generic VR system requirements and does not state it does not work in VR. Johnny Dioxin Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 (edited) The product description page is not unclear at all - it has a very clear statement concerning VR at the bottom. Edit - it isn't at the bottom any more - it's in the middle of the description, in a line all on its own: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/special_offers/ns430_and_ns430_mi8mtv2_bundle/ and https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/special_offers/ns430_and_ns430_l39_bundle/ Don't know which page you were looking at - but these are very clear that it doesn't work in VR. Thanks for that answerlecturexplanation  Here's a screen from the module at issue. I'm not reading the VR incompatibility statement. However, after more investigation, if one clicks on the product link, there is more information there, which does state VR is a no go. Odd they wouldn't put that in the main description, though... Johnny Dioxin Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 I think it's because that's the details for the general module - and the two modules that fit into the L-39 and Mi-8 are VR compatible, but the pop-up ones aren't. So I'm guessing they put that info only on the pop-up detail pages (as it's offered in both bundle deals). edit - nah, can't be it - that is for the pop-up, isn't it? No idea why it's not on that page, then. arturojgt Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Goodnight to everyone. I was flying during the night and I realize now that I can see the back (looks like black piece of fabric) the oculus front, I adjusted the gamma almost to 1.2 or 1.3 but I still can see this, really annoying during night flights. Any ideas? Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando Tapatalk Pro Arturo "Chaco" Gonzalez Thomas
jasonstory44 Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Looking for suggestions. Can any of you guys see ground targets through the HUD in VR? I'm flying in VR with the Oculus. I've read all the threads on model enlargement and resolution and know its an issue being worked on by ED. I've finally sorted out the spotting with planes but I can't see the ground targets at all (even with labels-which show roughly where target is but can't be used for targeting). I've dropped PD to 1.0, tried MSAA off and on...nothing helps. I can barely spot the target out the side of the canopy (clear glass) but as soon as I roll in on my run the target vanishes in the tint of the HUD...there's no contrast at all with the terrain. Is there a way to turn the HUD tint off? Any suggestions on how you guys remedy and deal with this would be greatly appreciated. Flying the A-10C I find correct use of the pod and binoculars (VR Zoom) helps a look, just like in reality.
CBenson89 Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 Does anyone here care to elaborate on how good DCS actually looks in VR? I just got a gaming computer about a week ago and I got Oculus Rift and Touch for $350 bucks on Amazon Prime Day last week. I have a PSVR and am super excited to see how this game looks in VR. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and happy hunting!!

Johnny Dioxin Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 I read someone saying that they could remove the VR cursor (the blue cross) by clicking the mousewheel. I tried this and it doesn't work - I thought it wasn't possible to remove the blue cursor yet, anyway. Anyone know anything about this? If I don't use it at all for a time the BC goes away. Sometimes after a short time, sometimes after a long time, and sometimes not at all. I mostly use a custom game controller I made.
