I'm not much of a helicopter guy, but a Little Bird option in the sim would be a TON of fun. It looks like a fun chopper to fly - nimble, lightweight, fast - and is a mainstay of the Special Operations forces in the US Military. From a tactical standpoint, this would be a great fleet addition next to the UH-1 and allow us to recreate the "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" scene from 'Apocalypse Now' with UH-1s, OH-6s, and F-5s!

Just seems natural

The next two helicopters BST has said they're working on are the Mi-24P and the AH-1W. I'd rather one of those than a Little Bird.

Both the Gazelle and the upcoming Bo-105 seem to fit the same niche that the OH-6 fits in. Don't get me wrong, I totally love the Gazelle and will get the Bo-105 for sure, but I'm not sure a third nimble scout chopper with SpecOps potential would be that great an addition to DCS.

Since I like the Loach and think BST have done outstanding work with their helos so far, I'd surely get the Little Bird as well (if they promise to deliver a manual right away :music_whistling:).

But in terms of variety and MP usability, Hind and Cobra would be much more interesting. Plus, with both choppers pilots should massively benefit from prior experience with Huey and Hip.

While I would love a little bird (had an OH-6 model when I was an elementary school kid), I agree the sentiment that at this point Hind and Cobra are more exciting, now, at any point they would be more exciting but, more so now that we have (about to have) two scout / light attack helos, but only one attack helo and even then a special snowflake with single crew.

Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V

Pls be objective. The little bird would be most uselles helicopter in DCS currently.

implying that most of the current helos aren't worthless

Sorry, hard to take someone seriously when they can't be bothered to use spell check or take the time to type out the word, "please."

Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather fly the Hind and Cobra than the -6, just a thought for another light-attack/recon/etc chopper for sometime in the future

Like I said, I'd love to get my hands on it as well. ;)

For sure, and I believe I say this for the majority of DCS simmers, an A~lite premier league attack chopper is at the top of the list of wanted modules.

First the Hind and then we desperately need the AH-1W.... and it must be the AH-1W!

But in the meantime or in between, nothing would give me more pleasure than an AH-6 (OH-6).

HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled.

DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!.

Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.

I know exactly what you're thinking.

And you're right!

How on earth could they show the T-tail on the front image and the V-tail on the side image?

Well, it was the 80s, so that's that. Then again, the show did swap the chopper somewhere in season 1, so in a way the depictions are accurate in their inaccuracy. :D

:D indeed, often they would take off in the V tail and land in the T tail with extended skids.

Need another gunship like the KA-50... maybe a KA-52, hind, cobra, apache, A129, comanche, eurocopter tiger...

the huey, MI-8 and gazelle are not really that great as attack/support platforms...

After watching Youtube videos of Arma 3.It would be fun to fly the Cayuse or the AH-6 Littlebird. You could drop Special Forces on the ground,or with the Loach. You could direct AI or Multiplayer AH-1 Cobras to attack different targets on the battlefield like they did in Vietnam.
