Coxy_99 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 It is disturbing to see this many people on the server taking advantage of the bug in the m2000. However, what you see can happen with any air frame and there are a lot of accounts of this happening even in blueflag with the a10, 29, 15, 27, really all of them. This can happen to player aircraft through dsync and does not mean that anything is wrong. Most of the time you see the aircraft different than what the player flying it sees. A bug in dcs when isnt there one lol

BSS_Sniper Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I have had my try at a lengthy post about the reasons, but Moltar pretty much nailed it imho. Major problem is also zero cohesion between bluefor players, they dont know each other mostly. OFC there is the core I know since I joined in round 6. And playing with theese guys is a pleasure. But the amount of people beeing unmotivated or just not usefull or just failing if you cover them is to damn high to be effective as a team. If you asked me how to increase bluefor efficiency the answer would be let the buddyspike TS chaos be buddyspike TS chaos, have a seperate TS for the coordinateable people and make that thing invite only nobody talks about the box club. The succesfull bluefor operations were result of that or roflstomp in way superior numbers this round. But the seperate comms is just feeling bad and people are not going to get more experienced if they fly on their own. On the other hand you can only be effective with an certain amount of rookies beeing part of the operation. From my experience if that percentage is exceeded, the operation is just doomed. Because important comms get drowned out by useless chatter and everything is just taking too long and is too painfull. If I am killing a shilka and a strela faster in an m2kc in heavy rain with broken rocket pippers, than two a10c circling the airfield for 10 minutes, there is just something heavily broken. Flying with the RVE guys, and tasking charcot flight has been an pleasure for me this round. There have been other very fun experiences with some pilots I had. But the normal buddyspike teamspeak bluefor chaos just really killed lots of the fun I had in 6 and 7. GR-Tiger is missing big time. imho. He had the energy and authority to glue the randomized blue team together to something that was working. Maybee not excellent but it was fun. Thats missing in round 8 for me harcore level on bluefor. As said I can solve that for myself by just switching off 264 not listenting to ts just go somwehre with people you know will not fail that horribly but that is something my idealism doesnt really allow me to do... On the other hand the realistic view would be its needed to be effective... Having flown both sides I can say that I've definitely made A LOT of new friends by flying on the Red side. Sure we can have our problems but generally speaking, it is the complete opposite of how you described the Blue side. If there's a lull we will BS on comms a bit but normally people are being tasked by GCI and working together on whatever mission we may have at the time. I know that people, especially new people, will naturally choose Blue and that hurts you guys. I remember when I first started messing around with BF and I had NO idea what was going on or what I was supposed to do. Luckily, I figured out very quick that I needed to be on comms and listening so that I could help. I mentioned it earlier but I'll say it again. If there isn't already, Buddyspike should put up a specific insctructions/mission brief page for new players so they understand what they should be doing. Anyone that is new and joins is naturally going to think it's like any other server, just get on and fly. I've just recently saw a new blue player complaining over chat that the server sucked, why was the target airfield so far away, where's the mission brief. I had to just chuckle because I knew what he was thinking but also, how wrong he was. Anyway, a server description with some instructions may go a long way to alleviate the problem of having new players. Although they can be frustrating, we need them to go from new to veteran. BSS_Sniper Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Team speak is a cluster f..k it was annoying as hell last night on red side everybody giving play by play of every non important action. Gci needs to be on Simple radio period as an sop. Yes, but instead of just getting frustrated (it happens to me too) nicely explain how we're trying to get things working between TS and SR. I'd say more than anything, it's just people sticking to old habits. If we NICELY explain that SR needs to be free from the side chat I think most will comply without an attitude. As far as TS, I as do others, will meet there and leave it on but mute it. Since we're on the subject, I'd personally appreciate it if people would use a PTT for SR that was different than their PTT for TS. That stereo echo is awful when they talk. I understand that some people don't have enough buttons and that's fine, you just need to mute your mic in TS. Questions to all Was SRS worth it for this round? Should it be in future rounds. If Yes, should it be the primary tool over TS with TS just used for chat / Establishing Comms / Troubleshooting? What more Documentation / Videos would help people get on it or used to it? You can say No the the first two but I'd prefer if it was a yes! Yes absolutely it's worth it. I think it should be the primary communications tool over TS. Having said that, I personally think it compliments TS. TS is a good place to meet AND see who's on comms. That is a nice part of TS, the player list. I will normally mute my mic and speaker on TS after I'm in game and running SR. Panhead Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I've just recently saw a new blue player complaining over chat that the server sucked, why was the target airfield so far away, where's the mission brief. I laughed when I saw that guy complain, as well. He also (or another guy, maybe) wanted to know wtf this server had so many people on it. I had zero time to reply at the time, and he was gone soon thereafter, anyway. Sucks. Because there went a possible regular, if he had known where to tune for info.
microvax Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Asking before its even sure we get the patch on friday, plox gib mistral gazelles at airfields. The m versions reaaaly is not well suited for the heli hunt job. One practically needs to get into a hover in the 342m with the sight stabilisation we have atm. You can say No the the first two but I'd prefer if it was a yes! Although I couldn't find enough time to play my Mig... Yes! Totally worth it! Yes it should! It should be primary tool and TS secondary/chat tool. I think many speak other language than "Official English" and prefer to stay on their own TS and chat... collaborate and then communicate with the team via PTT over SRS on essential bits. Entering on a different TS server where sometimes people like to "role play" in different quantities can be a deterrent to communicate in some instances. SRS solves these and makes it all realistic also. mia389 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 There's a version on the SRS thread for testing that'll hopefully fix this stutter. :) When that little bug is fixed SR will rock! Right now alot of are using two programs. TS for flight and SR for gci or sometimes the other way around.
BSS_Sniper Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Well, you won't reach as many people with "just" a website or novel. You really need to shout out to the nuggets and say "Come here, we show you some of our tricks and stunts to make you more combat effective!" - and I'm not just talking tactics. In recent streams or even in the global chat on the server I saw many people stating that their SR doesn't work properly. If we just get half of the missing people on comms we would actually do way better because not all of them are noobs/nuggets. Just a little lazy for comms and/or installing 3rd party programms. I've only run into one person, other than myself that had a problem with SR. If someone does have a problem with it, there are plenty of people that are able to help with it.
