If Viggen and Normandy and Spit come out in the next 8 weeks i'd be over the moon and quite pleased I didnt have the Hornet to distract me. Any more and it's just too little time. Always thoguth the F18 dev was ambitious.

In the recent updates, we got more info on WW2 content than any other project. (I honestly don't mind, even though I was confused by that, considering the A10C - a modern plane- is their best seller iirc)

My question is- are they more focused on the WW2 stuff right now? if so- do you think we might get info on SOH next year during the hornet's development?

Seen a lot of German units and an ai b17...what about allied units and something like a he111, or a do217 perhaps.

Back then, v2.0 was supposed to be what v2.5 is supposed to be now.

 

Not quite, 2.0 was supposed to be the old Black Sea map, 2.5 will have the reconstructed map.

Not necessarily. Output of screenshots/videos does not correspond directly to progress.

 

(Example: The Viggen is much closer to release than the F-14 but we have yet to see the Viggen in game, even though there's a cockpit video of the Tomcat landing on a carrier)

Somehow I doubt we'll see third party maps before the merge as each would require its own independent DCS build.

Suppose we can still hold out hope for the WW2 goodies but I remember a just a couple weeks ago when 2.5 and the Hornet were supposed to hit early access this year.

Stuff happens and all that, just a little disappointing.

 

I dont think it would require an independent build, but would need to be added to 2.0, I assume right now that is how we will see Normandy.

I am pretty sure SoH is pretty close to complete, but resources are probably on 2.5 right now.

Wow, the Hornet need one more year. I hope its not the case for early access thou....

 

Hopefully the Early Access hits then on the Q2/2017 and comes out at late 2017 so it can be bought from Steam. This is important to keep customer base as wide as possible so money flow doesn't halt.

There's a few things that point to the Bug being unrealistic for this year. Spit maybe, but if they are knee deep in the F-18 systems and FM at this point, it sounds like it won't happen. Ah well, there's always next year.

 

Here's hoping they don't wait until the last days of 2016 to announce a delay (if there is one), by then people will be really hyped/pissed off. Damage control is always more effective when it's early.

 

You call that being optimistic? I call that managing expectations. After all, it looks like i'm not wrong.

 

Being realistic doesn't necessitate obsessing over things that are out of one's control. This particuliarity has always been part of ED.

 

Knowing and accepting that, you don't get cought on the wrong foot very often. ;)

 

Anyways, i guess we are straying OT.

Yes, but I imo, the early access of the F14 is also unrealistic for 2016, because LN said, after the release of the Viggen, they will put all the manpower into the F14. And the Viggen is still not announced yet. So it will take more time, than it was planned this year...unfortunately

 

But I´m sure, the quality is it worth.

Yes, I agree for Tomcat. But for Viggen I read somewhere that LN planned to release this year. I don't mind at all Viggen module for my Christmas present :D
