It does seem strange they have stopped papal, but hopefully it is just temporary and they work something out soon.

Well so I won't buy any new Modules in the future.

Because, let's face it, I won't get a credit card just for ED Modules. That just doesn't make much sense. At least let us pay via bank transfer or something like that. But just rely on credit cards is IMO not clever at all.

sorry to say, but that is exactly my opinion ... i dont go outside the house to by a creditcard just to come back home and buy sth over the internetz ....

as said in another thread - no paypal - no spit(and further modules) for me :(

 

its hard ... i really liked to spend money on ED .... was always fun :(

I totally agree with you i did the same i have bought all modules with paypal and i own all of them except spitfire preorder and as i can see around the forums most of us non CC owners are Europeans

 

EDIT:

 

I only own a prepaid credit card and i do not intend to own or subscribe any other kind of card

 

this is from ED shop troubleshooting:

 

SagePay declined transaction, Payment rejected

 

You have to ask your bank to allow payments in England (UK).

SagePay payment system are located in UK.

 

Please make sure your card supports international payments.

 

The SagePay system doesn't accept a Visa debit gift card and prepaid cards.

 

Pay attention that Debit and Credit cards are different !

ED will implement a Gift system, but I do not have a time frame for this currently.

I certainly hope this is true. With the announcement of the Spitfire I purchased 4 modules. 2 copies of the Spitfire, one for myself, and one for a friend. While I was at it I completed his collection of the current WW2 modules. Only after forking over another $150 to ED did I find out that I can not gift them to my friend. :glare: I did put in a support ticket as you suggested.

 

I can not speak for everyone, but there are some of us that better off than others, and like to purchase modules for their friends. It is the only way I can fly with them as they do not have the means to purchase modules for themselves. Frankly I am rather disappointed in ED for the way this change was announced. Or lack there of. I understand that a problem needed to be solved, but have the gift option in place before you disable the other. I know I can not be the only one that frequently gifts modules to friends, and it would be nice if the change had been better communicated to the customer base. At the very least this should have been included in the newsletter. Section 3 Subsection 3.1(a) says absolutely nothing about gifting. In fact Section 9 Subsection 9.1 clearly states that you may transfer your license. :doh:

I also disagree with this. I understand that trading isn't allowed, but what can I do if I have a module that I don't want to use anymore, and want to get another one that a person is willing to exchange for the module that I don't want anymore?

That's a very complicated way of saying "I want to trade modules"

DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule.

 

In order to utilize a system to your advantage, you must know how it works.

This is terrible. I have a separate account for running a server and receiving my kickstarter rewards. Now I receive my kickstarter reward and I have to beg to get it transferred so I can use It? I was basically forced into doing this because the kickstarter account email and ED account email had to be the same and I did not use the same email for the two. I have also bought many extra modules over the years and gifted them to other people. This is kind of cutting their nose off to spite their face. I obviously won't be doing that anymore.

This feels like a form message at best. Did not even address my issues or concerns. So I guess this is ED's attitude to a long term customer who has purchased every single module. And many others for my friends. Very disappointed with ED right now.

If you ask them to move the key to another account they probably will. They did this for me today. Sadly, since my KS rewards are on a different account than I use to fly I will have to go through tgis at least three more times. (Normandy, P-47, and Me 262)...

 

I asked in the same ticket about switching my ks backing to my other account, but there was no response to that.

I have a duplicate key for a product I already own that I have been holding onto for over a year as a future gift. I am hoping that I will either be able to refund this or use it with the future gift system.

This is exactly what I asked for in my support ticket. I requested that the licenses I purchased for my friend be transferred to his account. A simple look at my account history would show that I have done this with every module my friend owns. But as I posted above my request was completely ignored and I was given a generic response. Not thrilled with the customer service right now.

ED had to close key transferring down due to EULA violators but they plan to implement a Gift system in the future ( no time frame yet )

 

Have a read of the terms and conditions and EULA.

 

As for your other comments, Development takes time, if you don't like to wait, take a break.

 

We have had a steady release of new modules this year, and more to come. You are obviously posting angry, I would advise a read of the forum rules before posting again.

I am happy to report that I finally received a proper response from the ED customer service team. My issues have been settled. When posting (ie complaining) on the forums about an issue, you have to be sure to go back and let folks know when your requests have been resolved. Thanks to the ED team for resolving this issue in a timely manner.
