ED Team NineLine Posted November 21, 2016 ED Team Posted November 21, 2016 Thanks SiThSpAwN, if they come back with evidence about the elevators I will shut my trap ;) That's what I did over a year ago when I first reported :), but the version they were doing was less clear, you guys brought some good pics, so lets see where it takes us this time. Art-J Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 The infamous "wooden" finish of Fw-190's windscreen was fixed after release, Sabre's windscreen was too (at least in cockpit view), so it's never too late to provide some good reference material for 3D modellers. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Krupi Posted November 21, 2016 Author Posted November 21, 2016 (edited) I know you said it wasn't based on MH434 in particular however see below great thread! http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?20097-MH434-And-Her-Many-Guises Hornchurch in March 1944 Small intake, type 2 elevators... bart Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 (edited) Personally, yes, I would like to see the later elevators. But, I'm certainly not complaining about what we will be getting - atleast we will have a Mk IX Spitfire :) Well said Rock, agree 100% Beautiful photo there too mate, thanks for sharing it. Errr.....you planning on doing this skin by chance? :) Also I would love to see some of your work appear on the VA server Spitfires or should I say AO server now! when it's finally released. I was on there the other night and although its a great server, it just isn't the same somehow, don't know why and couldn't put my finger on it, but it just wasn't the same. Anyway hopefully we will see a return of VA sometime in the future?? :D Hey, what about Duxford now? are you guy's still going to be attending? VH-Rock Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 couldn't put my finger on it, but it just wasn't the same. Anyway hopefully we will see a return of VA sometime in the future?? :D Hey bud, I understand entirely. Both Pete and I are not involved with the server anymore, part of the reason for the re-brand to be honest. As far as Spitfire skins go, I will certainly be making some when the template becomes available. The AO guys are more than welcome to use them on their server if they wish to. A return of VA in futures is possible, it just depends on time, money and interest aligning at the same time. With regards to Duxford, I will be there on the 21st Jan at the HAC open day - not sure on Airshows yet, it hasn't really been discussed. PS - I'm afraid I can't take credit for the photo, it was shamelessly pilfered from google images, but is the aircraft that we were looking at. Virtual Horsemen - Right Wing (P-51) - 2008... Friedrich-4B Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Mainly for interest, here are some CAD drawings of the elevators, early and late, from this Ebook by Paul Monforton, a most useful publication when wanting specific details of the Spitfire IX/XVI family (and I'd forgotten that I had bought it...:music_whistling: )Spitfire IX elevators.pdf [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]************************************* Fortunately, Mk IX is slightly stable, anyway, the required stick travel is not high... but nothing extraordinary. ED Team NineLine Posted December 2, 2016 ED Team Posted December 2, 2016 Nice thanks, just hoping for a report on the type 2 elevators so we can get them added, I think I saw one at Kew, so either Yo-Yo has it and hasnt found it yet or can pick it up on his next trip. Goblin Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 (edited) from this Ebook by Paul Monforton, a most useful publication when wanting specific details of the Spitfire That's the level of detail in that book..!?! Why haven't I bought it yet? Answer me that! That's like dereliction of duty for an aircraft nut... ;) Thanks for reminding me of it! Edit: Just bought the book and browsed through it... Holy crap! rel4y Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Awesome news! Sith, would you be so kind to also ask for removal of those dreaded wing tire bulges. They were introduced in October 44 when all delivered Spits had E type wing armament already. It is mainly a Mk. XVI thing anyway and was accompanied by 4 spoke or even later type wheels. Another thing that comes to mind is the cannon fairings which are E wing type. Bulges are on my list to report as well, seem only IX that might have had them operated from concrete runways later or after the war. So we will see if we can have those removed as well. Ala13_ManOWar Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Hey guys, elevators have been updated internally. We bring a bit extra work for ED I guess :D, but that is great news  , after all it is for the sake of realism and historical correctness so DCS always tries to be spot on.
