Hmm forum of VKB not working... i never get any answer.. also it seems that Eu forum is already DEAD ...is this a hint for upcoming quality of support ??? So i will ask here : will there be a " low cost " variant like it is existing for the gladiator II. not everybody wants and can spend 300 bucks for a stick... maybe still existing more family men than millionaires ?

Honestly, I love a twist axis on a stick, and am looking closely at the MCG. I have neither the room nor the money for pedals, and for me at least this is a great solution. A discreet throttle slider would make this the perfect stick for me...

Just my 5c...

I have wrote to VKB Europe several emails (just to repeat my questions) and I received no answer!!! Is this how VKB works? How is your experience with them?

Same..and with virpil too

I believe that are good market for an Gladiator "vanila" (non PRO) base + MCG "vanilla" grip, if this option can hit the market for around $150, will compete with the vintage (with obsolete electronics) CH Fighterstick, but with more buttons, twist and brake lever.

The first thing that most people look at joystick is number of buttons, and KG-12A grip fail in meet this expectation.

Just got an email from VKB, MCG production pushed back to December.

Hi guys,

VKB HQ shared with me today that they are not going to make it in time for the shipping date of November 1 as initially envisioned.

The main reason is debugging the various different firmware elements for the multiple different MCG variants to be programmed, tested, and injected into the Printed Circuit Boards (PCB). This enormous task is slowing things down more than expected.

A word from VKB HQ:

"We are here to humbly offer our apologies to our loyal, trusting, devoted customers. The only reason we breach our promise is that we are determined to give you a product that works flawlessly. As you can see in the picture below, the grip is totally ready to be marketed - hardware wise. However, creating flesh out of mud is one thing, but blowing life into it is something different and this is what we are doing now. It is not going to take long, but it will still take some time.We work 15 hours a day, both our HQ and supporting engineers worldwide. Please don't give up on us, we're doing our best to hurry up."

With that in mind, VKB HQ has requested to push back the MCG release date to December 1, 2017.

Damn, that is unfortunate. Also probably means there will be an even further delay on details of the throttle being announced, pushing the throttle release back even further into the future.

Oh damn. That's another two months from now. Is there any particular reason VKB is intentionally holding the new batches of gunfighters to be released in sync with the MCG, other than that packages that include gunfighter + MCG will be sold? I just want me a new stick base to be used with my Thrustmaster stick :D:D:D

I believe that the next Gunfighter batch is simply not ready yet. I might just be that VKB HQ is working and completing things in sequence, and the Gunfighters are next after the MCGs are ready. Maybe AeroGator can shine a light on that.

Ble. My seat needs a new stick and the virpil availability is starting to look enticing. Did they give any sort of time frame? I don't wanna have to wait til next month only for it to be pushed back again. I know you don't control vkb but any suggestions would be great.

You might have to wait till next month, but not to be pushed further back. We're in full forward mode and hope to make the final checkup before China's national day (10.1.) which as it usually does will paralyze all biznis activities in the country for a week. Once we're done with the final checkup, the grips will start rolling out.

So, yes - next month is a sad fact of life, but no - further pushes back are extremely unlikely.

I hate to be the a-hole to say it. I know that getting the best finished product is of utmost importance for your customers. I guess im just venting my frustration.

hehe, well I mean it is what it is.... right now I have an X55 which gets me by so it's not like I can't fly.... the VKB just feels so much better so I am looking forward to it.

I have mentioned it before but my only real worry is my throttle... which the wires are fraying... so I get ghost presses and jitters. I really want it to last until the VKB throttle... or I might get something cheap to hold me over.... or I can man up and open it... and rewire everything.

Slightly off topic and perhaps you already know this, but since it's quite power hungry ghost presses on the X-55 throttle can also be caused by a non sufficient power supply from the usb-port. What might help is using an independently powered usb-hub or (at least this worked in my case) plugging the throttle into a front panel usb-port that is connected to a motherboard-hub whose other port is unused.

Of course if the wiring really is going down the drain (which isn't unlikely since the internals appeared to be extremely cheap when opening mine to investigate the source of these ghost presses) this probably won't help but I figured if this turns out to help your throttle I might as well mention it. :)

Regards and many happy landings! :pilotfly:

I just wanted to say to the few posts up above, I was on the phone and in the guts with ghost filling for saitek then shortly with logitech, the ghost presses in x-56's at least will commonly occur after some system time and anything remotely close to an "extensive" profile has been running multiple layers. Most of it can be fixed with a reboot.

If you're getting legit phantom input don't listen to me.

Yea, I have been running it off a powered USB hub since day one... still get the ghost presses. :(

Most of us have waited decades for high quality flight controls as are available now. Another month is hardly a concern to me. If the purpose is to release a better product, I don't think that's even close to a reason for me to choose the competitor yet. Besides, the MCG offers features I want that Virpil's grips do not have.

Couldn't agree more. A month is nothing as far as time goes, hell even the years fly by. It's worth it to wait for a high quality product.
