When flying with AI, there needs to be a 'fuel state' or just 'state' message, so player can know fuel amount in flight. Using own state to guess wingmen's fuel, is not reliable.

Looking forward for this option

While flying Red Flag campaign, my wingman often eject short of fuel. Definitely need this option to understand the fuel state and direct him to tanker.

I was also wondering how to make a flight fuel management ... Then a friend pointed me that thread.

How possible that kind of essential function is not present in such combat simulation!? ... This is absolutely paramount to be able to take the role of a flight leader. Without that, realistic mission management is simply not possible. I am literally appalled. :(

True statement. The only time I get fuel status from AI is a "Bingo" call, followed by "ejecting!" a few seconds later.

Yeah. The AI comms would definitely be valuable, but the wingmen need WAY better fuel management logic, period. It's a massive issue with the current DCS implementation.

... sorry for the Threadnomancy

AI calling out their fuel state seems to have gone by the by completely, can we at least have a call to ask them what their fuel state is... especially because they know it... i mean at 50nm i call inbound to the carrier and -2  is at 1.2k and i'm at 12000lbs ... (is he in burner all the time ?)

Yes, very often. It depends much on how do you fly and give them orders.

You can see the fuel state via triggers/script. Of course this has the limitation of needing to be added by the user into missions that do not feature it, so it does not remove the need for updated wingman communication, but it can help ease the issue in the mean time.

And the formation you use. AI will waste far less fuel if using group close formation. Something about their flight physics also changes when they are in formation. I've had wingmen fly with me in mil power, but then when I tell them to break formation and follow waypoints they engage AB despite flying at the exact same height and speed.

Ah I did not know, that I have been setting them up to line - a - breast... Which is about 1nm out...  So...

For clarity, Group Close is the formation spacing, and not the aircraft arrangement. You can set the wingmen to be Group Close while in Line a Breast, though it might need to be done in the mission planner as I think the F10 radio only has options for Combat Spread and Close. Yet another issue with that menu.
