Has anyone flown the above aircraft by Razbam in VR?

If so is there any chance you could give some feedback on what it's like. Stuff like how large the cockpit feels. The A-10C blew me away with its roomy size.

I'm going to get this once I have the funds but would like to get some thoughts on how good it is compared to other modules etc.

If not no problem.

Jabbers has and said the cockpit was solid in VR.

This has got to be one of the best looking VR cockpits I've seen!

I think I read earlier today that someone complained that the harrier is unplayable in VR. I will get a chance to test it myself later today and report back.

Looks Great on all of YouTube demos but they are running 2.3. in 1.5 beta it is almost unplayable for me and I have a pretty powerful machine. I took off in the Harrier landed it and uninstalled 1.5. ill have to wait till it comes out on 2.1 or 2.5

1.5.x sems not as optimized as 2.1.x, esp. noticeable in VR. Shame that the Harrier only came out on 1.5 today (like many others, I've uninstalled 1.5 and haven't looked back).

Yeah, it's unfortunate that it was only release for 1.5. I was really looking forward to flying it, but I won't touch Caucusus until 2.5 is released. I'll wait til then.

I flew it just now for about 30 minutes in VR (Rift) and I agree, it's not very well optimized and the frame-rates were mostly very low. It is playable, but not great. Flying the M2000 though is butter smooth. Hope that in 2.1 it will run better.

I am only fly DCS in VR! I find the bird awesome in VR! The plane gives much joy, especially vertical take off and vertical landing. I flew the bird now for 30 minutes or so. FPS drops flying above the city. Besides that it was good too fly for me. The Harrier is more FPS demanding then the rest of the planes, but WIP and i am sure Razbam will optimize it.

Don't forget 2.5 is around the corner (There was sombody that said that 2.5 had better FPS then 1.5.7) and Vulcan Api is in the planning! This will give a huge boost to our FPS. :D

Sounds great. Will have a closer look when it hits 2.x. with deffered shading.

From what Ive heard, v 1.5.8 will be history in a couple of weeks :)

Good lord I sure hope so...FPS is abysmal trying to fly the Harrier around.

That said, amazing cockpit in VR. Really looking forward to the performance matching the beauty of the cockpit.

Wags confirmed it's a few weeks out (The Grand Unified Theory..urrr...DCS).

I only got to test Harrier for about 10 minutes, but it was silky smooth. But I just chose the free flight instant action so no activity on the ground. If people can explain what instant mission they are on, it may help us all to baseline the performance.

And the HUD does look very nice!

There should be a test missions for different aircrafts that are basically just replays of flight so it is always repeatable.

I have made my on for testing purposes.

This was just posted by Zeus in RAZBAM Harrier thread.......

https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=196582

"On the FPS drop that some people are experiencing.

With ED's help we found out that all MPCD and HUD video is being rendered at all times, even if they are not visible.

This means that you have the following video outputs on all MPCDs:

- NAVFLIR

- DMT

- TPOD (if mounted)

- MAVs (if mounted)

- HUD NAVFLIR

So at anyone time you may have between 5 to 9 video screens active, but invisible.

We are fixing that and hopefully the FPS problem will be solved.

NOTE:

Problem fixed and will be applied on next release."
