so how can it download for you on the 30th and im 31st 212am??????

Uhh, where do we start... Wikipedia -> Timezone? :music_whistling:

Thanks, 1.5.8 stable or 1.5.8 OB?

Sorry, didn't know that's what you wanted to know.

This was my main 1.5.8 stable installation. I haven't had any OpenBeta for months.

I updated it into the OpenBeta about an hour ago, since the first indications came out that 2.5 would appear today rather than tomorrow.

1.5.8 Stable and OpenBeta were definitely different prior to 2.5.

Anyway, my command line coming from the freshly converted OpenBeta was:

DCS_updater.exe update @openbeta

And that worked just fine. I assume it would have worked without prior switch to OpenBeta, but I'm not sure (certainly not gonna revert now :P).

1.5 0b update button??????

Yes should have an icon showing " Update DCS World Open Beta", assuming it is installed.

So, just making sure I understand correctly: You had 1.5.8 Stable Release installed, then converted it to 1.5.8 OB earlier today and now updated to 2.5 OB?

I dont see this updater in my DCS folders...

Default path:

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe

SkateZilla has a great explanation on how to use it, with a lot of screenshots and examples.

Edit: Here you go: GUIDE: Using DCS Updater to Update, Revert, Repair, or Install Modules

Well you are doing better than me, both up and down are around 2.5 MB/s on my end.

Edit: scratch that, now around 12 MB/s on the download lol.

It is just jumping all over.

Use this excellent guide from SkateZilla:

https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030

(That link should actually prefix each and any thread of this type, because it always comes in handy!)

What is the exact command line to input please?

It says:

"DCS_updater.exe update 1.5.1@openbeta, DCS_updater.exe update 2.0.0@openalpha"

But what is the exact phrase for both DCS 1.5 and 2.0 to update to 2.5?

"You see, IronHand is my thing"

There is none for both. Only 1.5 can be updated to beta. Then you should be able to get the 2.5 update by running dcs_updater.exe update once you updated to beta 1.5.8

The 1.5 Open Beta updater will check for and transfer necessary files from the Open Alpha if it is installed. It does that first before it starts downloading 2.5.

just logs in me in does not update and ive got the beta 1.58?????

With Windows 7, do a shift+right click on the Bin folder in the DCS open beta folder. Select the open command window. Type in DCS_Updater.exe update @openbeta and hit enter. THE COMMAND IS CAP SENSITIVE! You must type it in as shown. My download size is 13774.4 MB, so it appears to be tailored to your existing installs.

When all else fails, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!
