Just double-clicking on the updater has never worked for me on the major downloads. I have to use the command line method. I had to use it to install Normandy and the WWII assets pack too. Running the updater.exe has only ever updated the incremental updates. I'm at 60% now. Downloading slow, but that's OK. I'm retired and have all day. That's why I'm sometimes "crotchety" here; I'm old:lol:

When all else fails, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!

I only needed to make a double click on the DCS shortcut on my desktop. That's all that was necessary to get 2.5.

But if you have special wishes then it can get complicated of course ;)

That is all I had to do this morning as well...

Now at 51%...

I've also had to do the same thing. Small updates it would take them automatically but major ones I've always had to run it from command line.

Can't wait to get home and start the download. I have fiber so it should go smoothly.

Yeah: simple question; how do i end up with 2.5OB and 1.5.8 final when i have 1.5.8OB and 2.2Alpha installed atm?

You use the updater to convert your 1.5.8OB to 1.5.8 Stable Release, wait a week for 2.5 Stable Release to be released, use the standalone 2.5 Stable Release installer and during the installation it will ask you if you want to keep a backup of 1.5.8 Final.

For those of us who want to do a fresh install, the standalone installer should be available tomorrow I'm assuming seeing how the updater dropped a day early.......right?? ;)

They said they want to release the standalone installer a day after the update, but that it depends on things like server load.

Nevada is not being updated to 2.5 as yet correct?

Wrong. Nevada is available in 2.5 together with Normandy and the new Caucasus.

Well ...there´s nothing to download at the moment...."Element is not found". Guess it´s removed.

The updater.exe is at the bottom and available. You are probably talking about the installer for the open beta.

Quigong you are right...finally I got confused as well.

I now clicked Skatezilla´s DCS updater tool and - voila - it starts to do it´s job.

Thanks for the reply

So is it updating both 1.5 and Nevada at the same time?

I'm not sure what you mean. Nevada is just a map that is available in all DCS 2.x versions.

It's taking files from Nevada and 2.2 and putting it all together in 2.5. You will still be able to access Nevada from 2.5. I believe they said Nevada on it's own would be updated later.

Nevada is not supposed to get any more updates currently.

In that case I got confused, the standalone 2.5 installer is coming later or possibly tomorrow. But for people that only have 2.2 that should take care of it. I wish the straight of hormuz map also was available.

2.2 Open Alpha wont be updated, instead Normandy and NTTR will move to 2.5, 2.5 will install over your 1.5 Open Beta and later Release.

Understood, cheers. :pilotfly:

Does your laptop have both 2.2 and 1.5.8 installed? Smaller download size in this case. If the desktop only had 1.5.8 then it's downloading stuff it would pull from 2.2 if you had it installed.
