However, I suppose it's a general problem and not mission related. The cargo swings more and more until it unhooks, even in steady flight:

Yeah, better report it twice than not at all. This way ED and Belsimtek may be aware of the problem ;-)

It's open beta...we're the testers :-/ I agree though, sling load is pretty essential for the helicopter pilots, therefore it's something that should have been noticed and adressed before.

Guys not quite related but will they allow sling loads to be placed onboard ships, trying to make a mission but it says load must be placed on land.

I have used the sling loads in 2.5 and they work OK under the Mi-8 -they will do what happened to you but only if you are flying too fast.

 

You don't look to be going fast -but I find that you need to keep under 150kmh to keep the load from swinging etc.

A question for you chaps. I've recently being trying to land a sling load on a ship. Been managing the load onto the ship without too many issues, but the load seems to invariably then explode on the deck of the ship, probably not what their crew were looking for.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Yup, definitely seems broken to me too. Picking up a sling load with the Huey in the Argo campaign and just holding a steady hover with it results in it flying off into orbit ha. Between this and the night lighting issue, Argo has been really rough!

That's interesting. I like to carry cargo for a long time and doing that in Aerobatics Online server and have no issue about that.

weights over a 1000 seem fine to sling load in the huey.

 

i thinks its that 300kg load in argo that cause all the problems.

Fly with very slow airspeed. Max or below 40 knt.

But cargo will brake 9 out of 10 times anyway when get by delivery : (

Yeah looks funny until you want to make a mission...i have too this problem any news about a fix?

Unfortunately there is still a very bad bug in DCS when slingloading.

However, if you fly the Mi-8 with a bank angle of 10°-15°,
you can fly at 150 - 210 km/h and even let go of the cyclic;
you only control the direction using the pedals.

What's the weight of your load? I think you should use a shorter rope with such a cargo.
