A little May update about MiG-19P

Few things I hope from this module:

 

1) It comes by default with a three cockpit textures/liveries. a) Almost factory new with few months service b) Weathered for a few years / decade service c) weathered for decades service.

 

2) The radar hood is well operated in VR. And that hood is removable/adjustable

 

 

One thing that really amazes me is the size of that gunsight. It is huge, like from a F-22! Like why doesn't a Su-25 or Mig-29 have anything like that size for their gunsights/HUD?

One thing that really amazes me is the size of that gunsight. It is huge, like from a F-22! Like why doesn't a Su-25 or Mig-29 have anything like that size for their gunsights/HUD?

The glass of the ASP-5 broke quite easily during regular maintenance, even after making it as thick as it was. By the mid 1960's, there was also no good reason to make it that big. With increasing combat ranges and speeds, the angle of vision that was used and/or was deemed necessary decreased.

As Mig-19 had so big gunsight, I would have thought that Su-27 and Mig-29 would have got similar to that size since Mig-23 brought radar scope to HUD, but there must be other very good reasons why so wide ain't needed even today in Russian aircrafts.

 

But that Mig-19 just looks so fancy :-D
