Wow, in the middle of the fight with two F5s, I felt like something hit me.
I shot down one of the F5s and went back to my base, to see what part of my right wing was missing 😳.

I know its difficult to identify targets with the EP-13 sight in the Viggen  and I have probably done the same thing but guys please try to VID before killing the poor ground troops. They have a hard time as it is with the enemy team, not to mention they have to dig a hole to shit in!

I had that once for 2sec loading in, but it disappeared when I was fully loaded in.

Mi-8 was ok, Su-25 was ok, only Mi-24 was like that.

most definitely (the FM for example) but that is not what is happening here.
This is clientside - you are stuck in a shader-load-progress that remains in the thread-stack. Sort of the process went into "non-reponsice".. and since DCS has a baziliion core engine functions that are first-core-single-core-first-thread-single-thread only... such things can happen.. easily.. especially with an early access module.
Just clicking something at some point might nuke that particualar process, like Mig-21 not having pippers or gyro or RSBN channels pointing to a different airfield or or or or or...

Advice for your client:
activate the single line counter (fps counter) before you join a server.
Even if headtracking is reacting and things are interactable.. wait until you see the CPU-timer run stable cycles again with no stuckstutters (the CPU timer, not the FPS)... and only then do inputs.
And wait until you are SURE that the shaders have also loaded (so the lighting overlay now matches the weather present on map and mission).
Also the usual:
- never alt-tab
- clean your system tray
- have no browser no nothing running beyond what you actually need
- pagefile location and fixed size 
- aso aso aso

Server News:

 

Operation Search & Destroy is now fixed and upgraded. It will not be part of the daily missions, but I'll put it online once in a while:

 

- Added 18 x Mi-24's (2 x slots).

- Su-25T's removed.

- Instead of 14 x Ka-50's, it's now 10.

- Weather adjusted -> Light clouds.

- Fog removed.

- Mi-8's and UH-1's can't deploy tanks and other armoured vehicles any more!

- Mi-8's and UH-1's can still deploy KUB's/Hawk's, EWR's, JTAC and ammo trucks.

- Mi-8's and UH-1's can now deploy an assault team consisting of 2 x AK-47's/M4's, 2 x Anti-Tanks, 1 x MG and 1 x MANPAD.

- Added T-72B's/Abrams and BMP-2's/Bradley's around the FARP's for commanders to reinforce their towns/lakes with. Use your units sensibly.

- To make it fair, the additional T-72B's outnumber the Abrams by 1,67:1.

- Jahrom Town is too big to capture and hold. Therefore, the coalitions are tasked with capturing and holding the industrial area ONLY!

- Briefing images adjusted.

- Briefing adjusted.

The mission is very good, I was playing all afternoon, but I did not manage to kill anyone hahaha.

Would it be possible to introduce the R-60M missile?, in missiones where the F-14 and Mig-29 are.

For the F-14 it is no problem dodging my two R-3r's and my 4 R-60's.
 
R-60M: Improved production version introduced in 1982. It has the NATO reporting name AA-8 Aphid-B. Uses wider angle seeker with improved ECM capabilities and "Strizh" optical fuze.
 
 
Mig-29A Production started in 1982, and deliveries to Frontal Aviation units started in 1983.

I’m fairly new to DCS and very new to Cold War but it’s the only server worth playing. I haven’t been around long enough to know or understand some of the problems being raised but hopefully there are enough people who do appreciate your effort.

no its not fine, it was there back to 2018, alpine removed it due to better experience in dogfights, mig-21 bis is the modern version on mig-21 and can carry up to 6 missiles.

I invited three DCS players to come comment on the same fight, they all have different backgrounds and their experience leads them to comment on different things. I find it really interesting to compare and contrast the different thoughts with the backdrop of the same dogfight. This fight is from the Cold War server and it is a Mig-19 vs a F-5.

The R-60's are added in all "F-14A missions".

All-aspect missiles would end all turn fights! Most kills would be head-on, quick and sudden. Strikers and helicopters would have a harder time than it is anyway.
