Fillbiker Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 This mod is great. Huge fps improvement here, I have Vive Pro, 1080ti, 8500k. Thank you for making this.
tribundf Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 as a general question, do you guys all have shadows off when using VR? That seems to be my main fps killer when on base and a lot of other planes are on screen..... Or do you deal with it and laeve shadows on? I love the cockpit shadow, but could deal with the outside shadows being gone.... is there a way to turn all shadows off, but leave cockpit shadows on?
Kirin Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Finally came around to install the mod. Wow, great improvement. Was able to ramp up the PD to 1.5. Being on the Odyssey I didn`t even change the masksize as I only get a very slight anomaly stripe on the top of the FOV. Any `official` word on what airdogs MP complient version actually changes?

I dont change anything really other than I just remove the files that cause a Integrity check failure. Thankfully it does not seem to have any huge effect on its function. Its simple really, most of you could do it yourselves. When i installed the full version, i then went to the multiplayer lobby clicked on the red shield at the top, it will then list the files that cause the integrity check failure. I then removed those files from Kegetys zip file. Then I put it out there for all of you to use. Kirin Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 Out of curiosity I checked the files yesterday. Sadly the glass shader is one of them. I guess you have to recompile the shaders afterwards...

Wrench Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Hey Kegetys, I was wondering if you could help me with something. The JHMVsS on the f-18 render in one eye in VR (which is correct to IRL) and I was curious if it might be possible to get the NVDs tondo the same. They did once upon a time, but it was reported as a "bug" ad nauseum until the devs "fixed" it. Anyway, thought I'd ask since you seem to be the guy who knows about shaders. Thanks. Carrier Script.

whitav8 Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 I tried updating the current (11/12/18) of OpenBeta with the version of this VR mod named "DCS VR Shaders performance mod for 2.5.3.21107" and the nonVR load crashed when starting a mission (of any kind) and then with the VR mode, it stopped with "Failure to build metashader - and gave a list of about 5 or 6 .hlsl files that didn't compile - most in the terrain area. whitav8 Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 As far as repair and reinstall, I have done that a few times already! I test after the repair and it all compiles fine and runs well. Then I install the kegetys mod version 2.5.3.21107 exactly as the readme discusses (I have successfully installed this mod many times over the last three or four months and seen much better FPS performance for VR). Only this time with 2.5.3.23954 have I experienced this compile / crash problem. I really wonder if this version of the mod that I am getting from the first page of this thread is correct. Anyway, my current approach is to uninstall DCS World and reinstall everything from scratch, install the fast mod, and retest. If that still fails, then it must be my hardware (older i7 - 980X and DK2) or some dependency on the Windows 1803 build. Thanks for any ideas to try. Dave W.
