It looks kinda arcadish to me, but I heard the FM was good. But i heard it was going to be released this month?! But the beta screens don't really look that impressive, only that intro video which was all CG.

Seems more to be like eech+various mods that noone can find on teh Net. Let's hope for dual controller support, no way I'm flying choppers with a twistie stick (the irony is that the RAH-66 was to have a twist stick too :P)

I'll probably get it...I just have my fingers (and toes) crossed its better than the heap of crap G2 released the last time (anyone remember Battle of Britain 2 - Wings of Victory, or whatever...christ what a terrible pos that was...imho!).

http://www.eechcentral.com/wiki/index.php?title=Installation_guide has links for a demo page, and at least one of the demo file links worked when I just tested it (the last one http://www.download.com/Enemy-Engaged-KAH-66-Comanche-Versus-Ka-52-Hokum-demo/3000-7546_4-10229959.html ). Fly that and it'll tell you what to expect in terms of flight model. I always thought it was pretty convincing. I'm no helicopter pilot though... but then neither are 99.99% of the people here. ;-)

Systems modelling isn't hardcore, but then most of us won't be using BS in a hardcore fashion either once the initial novelty wears off, so that's no great loss. EECH makes up for it with a great (if quirky) campaign engine.

EECH2 will be little more than a facelift, you only have to look at the label's previous releases to know that. But I'll still buy it.

Nah, i cant play any other chopper sim than Black Shark at the moment :P

No im not teasing you! :D Am i..? :P

Every time you tease us about Black Shark, Santa kills an Elf :megalol:

Check out this link for merging seperate controllers just incase. I use it for Armed Assault, I've not tried it with EECH1 yet.

But yes, I'll be buying EECH2 in the meantime, the sim market is so small that every new release deserves a look. Apart from Whirlwind over vietnam, the developers of that pile of poo are definately off my christmas card list.

Looks interesting, for some reason I had it in my head that this was an arcade game so never looked into it, is it a simulation? If so I'll be getting it.

Starting to really enjoy flying 'choppers now (in videogames of course) and dare to go as far to say I prefer them at the moment to fighters :D

If you think EECH2 is going to be very different from this, you're probably going to be very disappointed. :-) The demo can be updated with all the user mods which have improved EECH over the years, taking it close, IMO, to what's going to be released as EECH2.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb7MsvFEz2k&mode=related&search=

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbPz66QflTs&mode=related&search=

Ok, some of the effects here are clearly more advanced than what's available in EECH + mods, but I'm pretty sure (judging by the article at SimHQ a while back) we're not going to see many changes under the skin. So the old EECH demo is still a valid look into the EECH2 universe.

here's some videos of the gameplay, i just hope we can turn off those horrible voices.

From those sounds and voices, this is as most people suspect EECH 1 with improved graphics and effects... That being the case, the Gameplay and multiplayer side should live up to that of EECH 1 and will be well worth a look.

Since moving to Vista 64, I've not been able to get EECH running in a stable manner, if this manages that, I'm definatley buying...!

Also, don't be put off by the way that the flying is done in the videos here, this is not the way EECH is supposed to be flown for those who have not seen it, I believe that these videos have been made to appeal to the "broader audience" and disregard the game underneath.
