Huh?! Gone... first it was moved to the "chit-chat" forum, now it's deleted...? Anyone?

It had turned into a discussion of Global Warming.

. . . . which IMO is something that should locked and subsequently deleted in real-world conversation, let alone on a forum about flight sims . . . . ;)

The old thread may have gotten a bit off topic and a little heated, but not out of hand. Everyone had valid points and opinions. Besides the topic was kinda loose to begin with anyways...

For those not interested (who cares?), could have easily avoided reading it. But it didn't even get closed, just deleted! WTH!

I just felt as if the forum police was on the prowl again after some other very recent bans and closed threads (some of you know what I'm talking about here)! :(

BTW, What about hitman 214th?

Why is he banned? Maybe I missed something.

Rarely do I hear folks from all ends of the lockon community talking about the same thing or even getting frustrated with one particular topic...and that is one of them. The whole ban police has pissed more people off than I can ever remember....and the lockon.ru site being down doesnt help solve that issue either. I personally hope that this all gets resolved soon.

It would be nice if the forums control panel would warn or not allow you to post a signature larger than accepted, based upon the rules set forth.

I am curious though as to when we might here news with regard to the release date of Black Shark.

Afaik Sig size ( kb) violations.

WTF: a ban for such a stupid error?

And I thought that Paris Hilton punishments were exaggerated already :D.

Has anybody looked at their User Control Panel? Can anybody tell me where we can see the actual file size of our sig as it is displayed on this forum? How can anybody who is trying to comply with the rules know for sure if they are or aren't, if they can't see the size of their own sig?

Go to the "Edit signature" option in the user CP. Right click on the image of your sig and select "properties".

Actual filesize (AFAIK after any auto up or down sizing, but I stand to be corrected on that) will be displyed on the popup Windows info panel (in kB IIRC) along with all the other usual file info.

Definately works with IE. Not sure about Firefox or any other browser.

You obviously aren't aware of what happened in this case and how quickly it happened.

Yes he obviously is - you on the other hand obviously aren't.

No need to go to the User CP - just right click on the image and select properties.

However, I find it a little hard to believe that people with enough photoshop skills to compose highly artistic sig banners, supposedly don't know how to check the basic dimensions of their creation before uploading it.

I also find it hard to believe when a person somehow manages to end up over the limit time after time......and I especially find it hard to believe that it should be a "mistake" if the same person uses his signature function to taunt us between each "attempt".

No, actually I happened to be logged in when the ban took place. He went from 30% to a ban in the space of just a few minutes. That is what I was referring to. :)
No, actually he went from 40% plus a 2 point infraction, some of which came from multiple prior signature violations, not to mention his public discussion of the matter with Alfa (you're more than welcome to do a search). Don't believe everything you hear.

LawnDart, please stop making redundant off-topic threads and then going around asking why they get moderated.

To all,

I sincerely apologize for contributing to this mess. In general, our policy is to stay away from discussing moderators' actions in public, but it is difficult not to comment when false accusations start running wild.

Topic CLOSED.
