Two-Six Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 After playing the stuffing out of Longbow2 back in the old days I have been interested in the Apache ever since. I am still waiting for Longbow3 :joystick: I am wondering if ED will do an Apache module? It would really fit into Nevada too.
mwd2 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 It was on the Roadmap of VEAO, but all helicopter projects from VEAO were cancel cause of lake of manpower. ED Team NineLine Posted January 7, 2016 ED Team Posted January 7, 2016 VEAO? What's that? What's the roadmap? Its a 3rd Party developer, although they did cancel it, I don't think that one was due to lack of manpower, not sure they were able to or did reveal why it was canceled. I am still hopeful one day we will see an Apache... http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=207 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

Slazi Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 It will probably be a long while. The KA-50 is the closest we have. Check out the Polychop sub forums. We're also hoping for Mi-24 soon.
Mud Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Same here, I've been hoping for an AH-64 sim for years (after Jane's Longbow). I'd also accept the A model in case D is too classified. It frightens me that so many people want these modern jets like the Eurofighter. There's so much unknown and classified on those. Too many guesses, less realism. CAT_101st Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 They put a halted to it due to the multiplayer cockpit problem. along with taking on the NTTR map and getting permission to use the A-10C instead of the A-10A Slowed things down. then they listened to the community on wanting better looking graphics hence the direction of 2.0. With the large group of players that want the AH-64 (including myself) that it will come to light at some point. The AH-64 was on the DCS road map in the begging as the 3rd module after the A-10A. One of the major reasons I got into DCS was the promise of the AH-64A. I totally understand the reasoning behind the decision for not making it and would not want it to not be a MP cockpit. MP it is the only way to fly it (cumming from a LB2 group of 3 years their is no way I could do it with a AI) I look forward to the day it does get made. NeilWillis Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 As PMan hinted at not being able to say why, tells me it was not the multiplayer issue. It is far more likely to be a licensing issue, which may well prevent anyone producing one. We can only guess, so speculation is pointless.
Devrim Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Come on; It has nothing to do with multiplayer. I hope that licence issue will be solved in someday, and I can fly with it in DCS, before my funeral. :P Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
NeilWillis Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I hope so too. It is an iconic aircraft, and with all its capabilities, it'd make an absolute must have. Never say never, but just be aware that the obstacles to be overcome to bring a module to fruition are sometimes beyond even the most determined developers. As it is matter we cannot possibly get an insight into in this case, we just have to keep the faith. 1
King_Hrothgar Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 It isn't a licensing issue, DCS would simply be the newest in a long series of flight sims to do the Apache. Now there might be an issue with the very specific UK variant VEAO wanted to do or some of VEAO's own internal requirements, but not with an AH-64 in general. There is also that myriad of Boeing aircraft available for FSX/P3D, so clearly Boeing is an approachable company. I think this is mostly a case of no one with the means to make it has decided they want to yet. And that's true of a lot of major aircraft types that fit the main DCS time frame (1970 to present).
ED Team NineLine Posted January 27, 2016 ED Team Posted January 27, 2016 I don't think VEAO ever said it was an issue getting licensing by the way.... Not for the AH-64. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Flagrum Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I don't think VEAO ever said it was an issue getting licensing by the way.... Not for the AH-64. Iirc, they said that they will "not make a public AH-64" module. So my guess is, in a way, it IS an license issue. ;-)

Flagrum Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Key word here is GUESS ;) To me, the keyword was "public" (or did he say "consumer", idk). But, yeah, you are not wrong ofc. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
ED Team NineLine Posted January 27, 2016 ED Team Posted January 27, 2016 Here it is here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2193455&postcount=644 Anyways... doesnt give a reason for development if a DCS World module. Feuerfalke Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 IIRC it was mentioned back in the days of BlackShark, that the 2 seater-cockpit posed the most unresolved issues. Not only multiplayer with shared controls an as smooth as possible network-sync, but also the AI having to interact with the pilot in case of singleplayer flights. If that put a hold on the process, part of it seems to be accomplished by the L39. I sure hope we will see more helos in the future. Jumbik Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I hope it could go like this: Mi-24 -> AH-1 Cobra -> AH-64A The same way like development of F-15C -> Su-27 -> F-18C Or not? :) Do, or do not, there is no try. -------------------------------------------------------- Sapphire Nitro+ Rx Vega 64, i7 4790K ... etc. etc.
Kayos Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I'd love to see the Apache right after the F-16C :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Redacuragsr Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 There was a guy that build a really cool Apache simulator by himself, but not sure what happened to it. I wish he would be a 3rd party developer. Check out his work right here: http://www.combat-helo.com/
Devrim Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 He doesn't intent to be in DCS World. I think he feels hard to discover another programming area or something - I don't know. What I wonder is that how can this guy doing this? Has he got permissions? Has he got all flight model data from manufacturer?
