Mine happens to be 65.5, but do not put in the dot or the third number it causes issues.

so I placed it at 65, or 70 and my frames stay steady 177 2-d but as soon as I put 65.5 my frames for some reason dropped to 70 fps. in VR its 45 steady to 80fps.

65 ? YOU MUST BE IN A MINIPUT WORLD THEN...The IPD in DCS, has nothing to do, with your eyes IPD. IPD in DCS is a world scale settings. I have messaured it, and in the F18 you need to set it at 40, to get a vision, comparde to the real world

It depends from person to person. What matters is the relationship between ipd set on vr headset and the one set on dcs.

There is no a single settings for everybody

That is not accurate for each person. When set to 40 or even 55, the cockpit is much larger than it is in the real world. I have mine set to 65 and that seems to be realistic to how I remember it.

I just leave mine in game set at default, always seems to give me the best results. I have not tried too many settings though when I gave it a try.

The best way to be sure is bail out and look at your body. If you see a little kid... lower it.

Agreed. For me, I try to match my real hand/grip to that of my DCS pilot's hand/grip and so far I am quite happy with a DCS World Scale (wrongly labeled as IPD) of 48.

That should be changed from IPD to "World Scale", to present its effect more correctly.

Almost all VR games should have the "World Scale" scalement where you could observe the world and then adjust the scale to natural one.

Now in many games everything feels developed at Oculus Developer Kit 1, for lower resolution and smaller screens, so with higher resolution and larger screen and wider FOV everything looks little too big.

I would call it a "world scale" , and i think the reason it is different for everyone is that it is BASED on a variable ipd setting automatically inputted to DCS by the headset software . I have come to this supposition by the fact that my DCS ipd setting matches very closely my Rift ipd . My in-cockpit avatar seems to be about right with the default setting (62.5) , given that fighter cockpits are generally somewhat tighter than most people expect .

My theory is that the Oculus IPD is the physical spacing between your eyes, which by itself translates only into focus since you're aligning its lenses with those in your eyes. The DCS IPD can be thought of as the part of our brains that, based on the what it knows about the physical spacing between our eyes, it controls depth perception and how large/close or small/far way things appear. I think of DCS as the brain, which is responsible for how our eyes perceive the virtual world.

+1 to that.

Honestly, how many times do we have to have this discussion? I really don't know what was in ED's mind when they decided to call World Scale such an ambiguous name as IPD.

they should implement a sort of calibration as this is very user/ hardware dependent.

eg a line/frame(A4 sheet??) of a standardized size in a standard distance adjust till it matches when u look below your VR glasses

Only using VR a couple of weeks so it could be different in previous builds but i don't have the idea that it's world scale but more cockpit scale that's changing with the IPD setting in VR part of DCS.

I don't see the world scale change when i change the IPD setting but the only the cockpit. Even more, the HUD image doesn't change either with the ingame IPD setting.

For the moment i scale the cockpit up to a point where i can see (most) of the entire HUD image. And this makes the cockpit then again sometimes just right, sometimes to big or either to small.

Sometimes i find the cockpit to big but if i then look down to the seat i get the opposite, the seat seems to small (or real pilots have all a very tiny ass).

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!
