F18 HOTAS (continue update)

Recommended Posts

I'm definately interested in this. But I wish for not an exact replica, but as many additional buttons/hats/rotaries as possible on joystick and throttle without giving up the overall design of course.

Perfect news. This looks like a bright future for you and your project.

Even though many real life sticks are out of plastic the feel of the metal stick of my Warthog is unbeatable. Cold when you start and warm, when you finish. So metal from my perspective is definitely the right choice.

Thank you xoxen, but I still not want to promise too much ,let's just stay in F/A-18 topic.

Yes I know you feel, we do our best to reduce the wall of grip more thick, you will warm more fast, I feel it.

Don´t get me wrong, I really like the cold feel of the grip. This is exactly what I like compared to the plastic ones. You have metal in your hand, it feels strong and resistant and has a little more weight. So don´t make it too thin ;) And after a long flight it is warm by all the heat the mission brought up :)

Full metal hotas replica with antena elevation rotary wheel on the throttle? Winwing, most DCS users will be interested, myself included. Personally, I have never bought any hotas before seeing a comprehensive review ( Yutube , check Ralfidude for example.) If you are really committed, make a good hotas, say your price and give it to someone to test. If, qualitywise, it is on par with Thrustmaster, VKB and Virpil( gimbals, software, durability) and you set the price near them somewhere, you are the winner. All you would have to worry about is your stock ( see VKB/Virpil problems- people throw the money at them just to see "out of stock" drama). You have to estimate how much of the price difference you forcast and share it here- you will have a proper feedback. Best regards and good luck.

Winwing,

When people ask for "software", they are expecting a keyboard emulator like CH Manager or Thrutstmaster TARGET, not more, not less.

If you will offer this, an suggestion, don't make this software proprietary like the mentioned above - that work basically with their brand (are "workarounds"), but with ability to integrate your F-18 HOTAS, a MCG Crosswind pedal, and Black box panel, a DIY BU0836/MMJoy2 "button box", etc - or, any joystick controller recognized by Windows as HID. With this you are "reinventing the wheel". :)

Agreed. This needs to work with DCS and with thrustmaster, component wise. The F18 stick needs to work in dcs with the TM warthog throttle so you can do an F15. Or build a harrier throttle too, because the stick is the same.

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

This looks very interesting. Have been looking to replace my old x-52 and since its nearly impossible to buy VKB and Virpil, a new player on the market is very promising. Will stay tuned here and follow the project.

Good luck :)

Do you have a price range? 300-500? 500-1000? 2000-3000? I think more people can say yes or no if they know a price range.

This is completely different from Virpil and VKB, you never had to wait with those guys... *facepalm* :) More seriously though, if you could, what is your time-frame WINWING? Are we talking about 3 months, 6 months, the half-life of Cesium?

The half-life of Cesium??? I have not heard that often used a measure of time. I hope it is more the half-life of Ir192 :)
