Japo32
Hi! This weekend I created these modificiations for the Tomcat, that helps a lot in VR and also with VRAM: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303911/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303917/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303918/ but I have 2 main problem with them. They do not pass the Integrity Check and everytime there is a DCS update, then the textures are overwritten. I thought about creating a user/saved games mod livery where I could use the cockpit ones at least, but in the extra options for the F14 there is no customize cockpits option. Is there a way to have that one and use the textures that I created? So for example 1 cockpit for better readable labels, and another one for reduced textures? Thanks! Deano87
Great work Japo! These mods have made the F-14 MUCH more playable for me in VR, much less VRAM usage but still looks fine to me! I believe the only people that can do the 'customised cockpit' stuff are Heatblur themselves, I hope they do as I see a big performance improvement with them! Also the text is so much easier to read. Thanks again! DarkStar79
Really god job!! Especially the texture, I hope maybe heatblur can make these so they pass integrity check or something. Because thay are needed for us in VR.
JoeyJoJoJunior
It's possible to get texture mods to pass IC check. You just have to set up the description.lua properly. I did the same for my Mirage 2000 clearer cockpit mod. PM me, and I can give you a hand with it. I was actually gonna do the F-14 as well but you saved me the work :) i7 6700k @ 4.6, Gigabyte Z170X-UD3, 32GB DDR4 2666, GTX 1070, Rift S | MS Sidewinder FFB2 w/ TM F-22 Pro Grip, TM TWCS Throttle, VKB T-Rudder Mk. VampireNZ
Great job on these - really improves the cockpit in VR! I also linked your mod in the Panels thread - https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3844263&postcount=77 Fingers crossed HB see the merit of having a 'VR Friendly' Customised Cockpit option. I linked them on Reddit as well and people are glad to have them. Hopefully soon you should be able to add them to the custom cockpit section once that is integrated. Eldur
Yes, we'll add the custom cockpit livery option. :) For the lower res textures DCS would need a separate option for cockpit textures. I suggested this to ED not long ago when I was having problems with my old 970 since I had to turn down textures, but didn't want to sit in a mashy cockpit with textures that look like they're 20 years old, totally killing the readability of anything. Would be great if you could as them to separate the texture settings into cockpit and the rest as well, as a 3rd party developer

Cause the reduced mod want to replace some.I didn't notice any reduced textures with the clean cockpit mod. Even the Rio seat is much more readable now. The other mods will have the reduced textures if that is what you are looking for. If you don't want to, the zip file is extracted with the same path structure as where you need to place the mod files. https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/OVGME Asus ROG Strix Z790-E | Core i9 13900K-NZXT Kraken X73 AIO | 32GB DDR5 G Skill Neo 6600mhz | 2TB Sk Hynix P41 Platinum nvme |1TB Evo 970 Plus nvme | OCZ Trion 150 960GB | 256GB Samsung 830 | 1TB Samsung 850 EVO | Gigabyte OC 4090 | Phanteks P600S | 1000W MSI MPG A1000G | LG C2 42 Evo 3840x2160 @ 120hz
VampireNZ
+1 for OvGME Super simple to use, and good for quickly removing mods, updating DCS then enabling again. Easy to add your own mods also by creating the correct file structure and dropping into the OvGME mods folder. Saves a lot of hassle. sze5003
Thanks for your answer. Sadly it did not helped. You have to place the mods in the same directory of your dcs installation. Not in save game location, as far as I know if you are not going to use a mod manager. When you extract the clean cockpit mod for example you have the folders like this: Mods/aircraft/F-14/Cockpit/Textures You have to go to where you installed dcs and you will see the same folder structure C:/Program Files/DCS/Mods/.... You place the files there for the aircraft you are using. But you will lose the mod when dcs does an update. The mod manager is easier and you won't lose the mod each time dcs does an update because you can enable/disable the mods.
