kmw072671 Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Hi, I see there maybe some bugs with respect to JDAM and other laser guided delivery modes with the TGP. I am somewhat new to A-10C but have followed the tutorial exact with laser guided delivery and bombs fall short or long from target even though the pod has the target locked "point" and the "L" flashed during bomb delivery. I do set the bombs to a 15 sec laser and "AUTO laser" in CCRP mode, but even with the target pod clearly on object bombs miss. Just want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong before I call it a bug? Thanks!
awjudge Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 If you use the F6 view of the weapon after it's been dropped, do you see it 'bang bang' when the laser starts to fire? Also, what altitude/range are you releasing the weapon?
Zarma Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Working just fine. Destroyed a bunch of tanks yesterday. i9 9900k, 64 Go RAM, RTX 4090, Warthog HOTAS Throttle & Stick, Virpil AH64 collective, TPR rudder, MFD Cougar, Trackir 5 Pro, Multipurpose UFC, Alain Dufour's TEDAC and Oculus Rift S (when I want some VR), http://www.twitch.tv/zarma4074 / https://www.youtube.com/user/Zarma4074
RavenFrost Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 your altitude is an important factor too. 8-12 sec for autolase are enough. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Longiron Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 TGP must be SPI ( I believe) for auto laser and in point track.
Eddie Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 TGP must be SPI ( I believe) for auto laser and in point track. No to both. As long as your SPI is at the target location to provide the correct release solution, and the TGP is slewed to that location (either area or point track) it’s fine. Point track is for moving targets, area for static.
Nickkerkwijk Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 Not sure what you mean by "bang bang"? I usually try dropping between 6000-12000' Iirc you should be at least at 7500 feet. Try dropping the lgb at 8000 feet with 10 seconds autolase. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Cyrus Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 (edited) Verify that the right weapon is selected together with the right profile. The tutorial instructs you to set up a profile for the GBU-12. However, if you select the individual bomb in the DSMS by clicking the OSB next to it, this profile is not selected. Accordingly, the bomb is released but does not guide. There are two solutions: 1. Select the CCRP mode with the Master Mode Control Button on your HOTAS and then the GBU-12 with the DMS hat -> this selects the profile you created with the tutorial. Then deploy the weapon. 2. Click on the desired GBU-12 in the DSMS page and set up a profile for this particular bomb (and not all the other GBU-12s carried). Deploy the bomb. Another issue is height. LGBs need a certain deployment height. Experiment with different release altitudes. Bang bang refers to the corrections made by the fins of the bomb, which only make full deflections instead of gradual ones. If the bomb starts to wobble in the air after capturing the laser (say 10 seconds before impact), it is guiding. If it does not wobble, the trajectory is ballistic and the bomb does not guide. Just want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong before I call it a bug? Thanks! SPI! It sounds like you have set the wrong SPI. The SPI (Sensor Point of Interest, not to be confused with SOI which is the Sensor Of Interest) is what tells the fire control system where it should guide you to, to drop the bomb, or in more simple words: the SPI designates your target. So make sure you set the SPI on your target! There are many ways to do that. Most common way is to set your TGP as the SPI source (it tells you what your current SPI source is in the bottom left corner of your HUD) and point it at the target. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Mule Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 One thing to consider is when you start lasing. You need to give the bombs a chance to gain kinetic energy before you lase. Last 10 seconds after letting the bomb drop from a good position and height will be good. Fighter Pilot Podcast.
