How is the VR performance improvement?

As I said, they should've announced that improvements were in, more people would notice them :). Placebo effect at its best.

 

Despite the very controlled tests by folks? Granted in my case, there was a pitools update and Nvidia update. So there are three factors at play.

I will admit that I am a sucker for the VR placebo effect. But in this case it really isn't just simply a case of placebo. There was something badly wrong with performance before this last update, and now performance is very smooth, even without Motion smoothing. I say this only because of how obvious it was. Whenever I looped in my plane there would be very noticible stutters, that also occured at other times too.

Glad to hear it. I have just come back into the OB fold after about six months on stable. I left OB after the Hornet radar kept breaking with every patch. Downloading OB 2.55 as I speak.

After assessing my Reverb performance over everyone else's it seems a major factor is that many of those seeing better frames are on 2.55 and I was still on the old version on stable.

+1, same here, I am observing an improvement in performance too but I am not sure if it is related to DCS, Pitool or Nvidia drivers

I've been holding off on the nvidia driver update from 5/27 since I had seen some folks having issues with it. 430.86 is the release version for that time.

 

 

 

Anyone here having issues with that driver?

same here, using a GTX1080 and 430.86. No problem...

At least we now have confirmation that Normandy will be updated for vr (no set date).

For me it was more about the stitching of some of the tiles that threw me off Normandy. Yes vr optimisation is very much needed and will be very welcome indeed, but I really hope they fix the stupid angular valleys/ canyons
