stuart666
A Tempest and a TA152 would be a good choice, seeing as there are still arguments about how good either of them was. Hawker Hurricane, preferably either a IIC so we can do night intruder operations with it. http://www.rogerdarlington.me.uk/Hurricane.html But Ill happily take any variant, particularly the ones as used by the Soviet Naval Aviation. Bristol Beaufighter. Because it showed equal success in the Western and Pacific theatres. And who doesnt want to drop Torpedo's? Hawker Sea Fury. It was issued on the last day of the war, so it just fits. German? Well call me strange, but Id like some of the German nightfighters, such as the Me110, He219 or the Ju88. With a well modelled radar system, possible chaffing by RAF heavy bombers, it could be a really interesting subject.
Krupi
Which variant of the TA152? For night fighting I think the Mossie NF and Me110 or He219 would be a better choice? Much as I love the Beaufighter the Mossie was a superior aircraft. The night fighting would be a fascinating and rarely touched upon aspect of WWII. Krupi
Regarding the Sea Fury I think you are mistaking it with the Tempest II. The sea fury was in operation in 1947 whilst the Tempest II which was essentially a pre naval version of the Fury was being on the verge of deployment in the Pacific when the ear ended. Richard Dastardly
Choice would be narrowed by needing a runnable prototype to take sounds from. The Tempest is somewhat larger than the Fury, but yes despite being around for years the T2 didn't exactly get much action. -0303-
Forget about peripheral planes with small numbers, no historical impact and that only nerds have heard about. They lack broad appeal. Not going to happen, if only because no flying survivors exist. Here's a project that is doable, not that it should be of any priority. Just a thought about an 'easy' plane for some startup developer. Tiger Moth. 250 still flying. No advanced systems to model. It was used as a RAF trainer. Funny, I read that it, like the Spitfire, has a very sensitive elevator. Keks
I dont think so. Its unique enough to turn a lot of heads and create interest that way. Also such novelties already exist in DCS with even smaller production numbers ;)
Richard Dastardly
Could you even get flight data from a Do335? sounds? Same problem with an Uhu, unfortunately - night fighter duels between a NF Mossie & a 219 would have been fun, but we're going to struggle to even get a Ju88. Lace
Already a popular choice, I will also nominate the P-38. Used by multiple air forces in multiple theatres for many different roles. It would be a very versatile addition to DCS. A personal favourite would also be a BoB Hurricane. Laptop Pilot. I mean, would be a great thing to have ( I'd fly the heck out of it ), but it doesn't fit 1944-45 Western Europe :) Ugh now I've watched a ton of Griffon Spit vids I don't know if I want a late Seafire, a Spit 14, or previous choices....
