ataribaby Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 (edited) Sometime when I boot DCS and start cold start mission with F-14 ALT needle is stuck at 0. Number rollers works ok, just needle is stuck. When restart mission needle starts to work. Edited August 12, 2019 by IronMike
RaisedByWolves Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 I get this randomly. Also I checked, system failure is unchecked in options.
ataribaby Posted August 11, 2019 Author Posted August 11, 2019 Yup same, no random failures set here. Thanks for confirm.
Tinkickef Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 (edited) I have had this too. Particularly on NTTR map. I have not had it for a week or so though. I thought I was missing some switch in the cockpit, particularly the power switch in front of the lighting panel, but on further reading that turned out to be for the ICLS and nothing to do with altimeter slaving. IronMike Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 Tracked. If you guys could narrow down when it occurs it would help a lot. Or if you could save a track when you experience it. Thank you. Reflected Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 (edited) Tomcat altimeter shows zero EDIT: MERGED (IronMike) I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but when I do a cold start, I can't get the barometric altimeter to work, only the radar altimeter. I can remove the standby flag alright. But it still shows 0 feet, and the needle doesn't move even if I change the pressure. Could you please advise? Thanks! fl0w Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 I think this is a quite rare bug for people to post about, that or HB may not be able to completely replicate the issue without them seeing some form of video or track to interact with. I will see if I can test this and send a track their ways. :P
RaisedByWolves Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 how do you upload a track? I saved one of this happening
draconus Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 how do you upload a track? I saved one of this happening When replying on the forum in advanced mode, there is button Manage Attachments, browse for the file then click Upload, wait for it to upload, Submit Reply. If the track doesn't want to be attached try to zip it first. If too big, search Internet for file upload method and just paste the link to a file. Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 I've also seen this happen, seemingly ad random. I'll try paying more attention to possible explanations... ataribaby Posted August 22, 2019 Author Posted August 22, 2019 It happened to me today here is track http://www.prekladytextu.eu/DCS/F-14_no_alt.zip
Wavehopper Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 It happens to me every time there's a hot start on the cat. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCC9G7AVfi68SovXCTCH-7fA
Hamilton Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 It happens to me randomly with PG map (Instant Action Case I mission). _________________________________ Aorus Z390 Extreme MB | i9 9900k CPU @ 5.0 GHz | EVGA RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra | 32 GB G Skill Trident Z 3600 MHz CL14 DDR4 Ram | Corsair H150i Pro Cooler | Corsair TX 850M PS | Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB |TMWH Hotas with VPC WarBRD Base| Corsair Gamer 570x Crystal Case | HP Reverb
Paterajkov Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Same Problem but... I have the same issue with the Alt needle. However, this happens only on initial launch of an F-14 mission after starting DCS. If I exit the mission and restart it, the problem goes away.
Hamilton Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 It happens also in Case I (Instant Mission) Caucasus map (Altimeter needle stuck at 0 ft). _________________________________ Aorus Z390 Extreme MB | i9 9900k CPU @ 5.0 GHz | EVGA RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra | 32 GB G Skill Trident Z 3600 MHz CL14 DDR4 Ram | Corsair H150i Pro Cooler | Corsair TX 850M PS | Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB |TMWH Hotas with VPC WarBRD Base| Corsair Gamer 570x Crystal Case | HP Reverb
FeistyLemur Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 I've had this happen multiple times on Mission 2 of the caging the bear campaign tonight, right at spawn it would read zero on the carrier deck, moving the dial would do nothing and clicking the little flipper on the right would do nothing to the left and get stuck with a STBY flag if flipped right. I tried exiting the game and doing a repair and it was working when i went back in, not sure if the repair is to thank.
Moafuleum Posted November 2, 2019 Posted November 2, 2019 It happns quite often to me. I would say every second mission. It can happen any time (regardless of hot sart on ground/air or cold start). Interestingly, the RIO altimeter works still fine, only the one for the pilot is borked.
IronMike Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 We believe this could be simply a loading issue (hitting slower systems rather), failing to initiate it during mission loading, we're not sure yet. We'll keep looking, thank you for all the reports in the meantime. If you don't mind, could you repost here using the bug form from the stickied thread in this forum section? Like that we might find common circumstances, etc that might help us look in the right place. Thank you. MPK Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 This happened tonight to me for the first time. This was on the GAW server, first flight after loading DCS: I tried watching the track file afterwards, but the altimeter worked perfectly in the replay.
Bearfoot Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 I've mentioned this before in another thread, and was told that it could be an issue with memory less that 12GB. However, I have 16GB. It occurs in all maps. It occurs in a number of missions (including e.g. the Case I training missions). But is very difficult to replicate --- I cannot pin down the circumstances. However, almost always a simple restart fixes things.
