Well having any kind of smoke in the cockpit is a no-no...

Just to clarify. I guess I should have called it water vapor, no smoke. Pilots would notice smoke very quickly by smell.

Cooling for the newly installed computers?

why not :)

Not any different than any other F-16 in a high humidity environment.

Water vapor in electric jet's cockpit?! Humidifying the HUD MFDs, canopy...That's even worse...what's the percentage of short circuits?!

There is no injection of water :D That apparent water vapour shows up when pressurized air is turned into low pressure high speed air, much like the LERX vortexes. :)

Same absolute content of water but different air/vapour balance.

What Pilotasso said, :D

I never heard of any short circuits in the pit due to water, not even after a heavy rain storm in Korea. Never seen the HUD covered in moisture. The outside of the canopy has and does get covered with dew. I had before to spray the outside of the canopy with water and alcohol mixture, believe it or not, using a super soaker while the engine was running so the pilots could taxi and take off. The inside has air vents to correct that.

You have no idea about what you're talking about.

Actually, I do. I own safety certificate to work on electrical facilities.

OK, it's expired now, since I'm no longer involved in that business, but you've got the idea.

Because he (helicopter) is not making the circuit.

How come the (much bigger) helicopter right next to the poor bird is not making a circuit, if the seagull did? With what?

Here you can see pictures of it, the first one clearly shows that the bird was stuck to the topmost line, far away from the other ones below. That's why he couldn't make any circuit, as well as the helicopter itself.

If you take your time reading that article, you will find out the seagull lived indeed. In fact, just google it up, and you'll see there are tons of articles all saying the same.

Case closed, move along. :detective_2:

An A-10C Thunderbolt II from the 40th Flight Test Squadron, moves down the runway at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The aircraft is loaded up with weaponry to test the combat carriage limits of the Sargent Fletcher external fuel tank. The A-10 flight personnel are testing to ensure the A-10 can carry the tank into a combat environment safely. If proven to be safe to carry, the tank will add up to 60 minutes of flighttime to its combat sortie. (U.S. Air Force photo/Samuel King Jr.)

This jet declared a pan, due to hydraulics problem, apart from dumping some fluid on the runway nothing else went wrong.
