DmitriKozlowsky Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 I really like the new cockpit. I wonder if start up procedure has changed. There are some new switches I have not seen before. Buuuttttt there are some minor issues. More then a few switches are now occluded by geometry, that without VR or TrackIR are a bit PIA to see. Some of those, that previously were plainly seen, are ILS HUD mode, EGI button, APU On/OFF, ILS ON/OFF and first digit knob. Gamma on MFCD in day mode is weird. The displayed sensor image and moving map, are washed out. But still , GREAT job ED. Great job.

Not sue about your first questions (as I use VR), but for the MFCD you could try and increase contrast and decrease brightnes. I do this in VR and it greatly improves readability imo System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH

Clarity and readibility is top notch. Got me learning the bird again. Same here! I'm totally reliving the enjoyment I had with the A-10C, when I bought it a decade ago. (Baltic Dragon's Enemy Within 3.0 is a great addition to this) The new cockpit was a very nice Christmas present from ED  System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH
ArcherII Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 I agree that unless you have VR or TrackIR, you are pretty much handicapped. For example the left CDU's LSKs are difficult to operate, as are the APU Start and Engine cranks.

One can get around the issue by moving the camera view with Rcltr+Rshift+number keyboard to see the hidden switch and buttons. Komrad Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 I agree that unless you have VR or TrackIR, you are pretty much handicapped. How are you finding your HUD view? For me I'm handicapped with it and I have trackir. Komrad.
ED Team NineLine Posted December 27, 2019 ED Team Posted December 27, 2019 How do you find yourself 'handicapped' with it, only a small amount is cut off, and only a slight move forward to reveal it. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
ED Team NineLine Posted December 27, 2019 ED Team Posted December 27, 2019 (edited) That is true. One can get around the issue by moving the camera view with Rcltr+Rshift+number keyboard to see the hidden switch and buttons. Snap views have been adjusted and will be in the next patch, you can use those to easily see areas of the cockpit that might be obscured for those that do not have head tracking. lxsapper Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 Also you can save your default head position...
CaptHawk Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 I'm glad the snap views have been adjusted. Wish the touch was a little better implemented. I use Track IR but on a touch monitor and the clarity is so that reaching in it looks like a real toggle. It just doesn't always function correctly or at all sometimes touching it. Buttons and radial switches are fine. But the clarity is beautiful now. Already did 6 hrs in the Hog and prior haven't flown it in ages. :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] AMP WIZARD "Forest Gumble" "When the air becomes electric....It's like a box of chocolates":captain: Windows 11 Pro 64 bit | Intel Alder Lake i7 12700KF | Asus Prime Z690M Plus D4 | CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR4 3200 | EVGA GTX 1070 SC @1594MHz/4000 MHz 8GB | 1x42" Multi Touch Screen and 1x27" 4k widescreen | Saitek x52 Pro |

Will users have access to editable texture files to edit them in photoshop? I’m looking to dabble into using photoshop to create a weathered/worn look. Kang Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Yes, a few new occlusions are a slight annoyance with the new cockpit, especially when not using VR or TrackIR, but then I found on the other hand some switches that used to be occluded are better visible now, so... evens out? I don't know. One thing that I dislike a bit - but I might just need to get used to it - is that while the new textures are much clearer and better to read, the default perspective puts me much further away and with a small-ish monitor the screens do get much harder to read. Also by default I can't see the waterline on the HUD anymore. No big deal, though.
