2.5.6 not opening

I just updated to 2.5.6 and when I try to open it I get an "Error creating process" message.

Looks like Karpesky AV (or other antivirus) is deleting WorldGeneral.DLL file due a virus, maybe a false positive in their heuristic algorithm. Try to repair DCS

Thanks. Looks like malwarepytes flagged it. All I had to do was restore the file.

After the most recent Update of DCS (DCS 2.5.6.43453 Open Beta), BitDefender flags the file worldgeneral.dll containing a Gen:Suspicious.Cloud1@J8@aG2Qkxpi virus and puts it in Quarantine.

Latest update changed the shortcut to open the sim, I don't know what it changed it to. I can't open the sim.

 

 

My antivirus (Avira)went nuts and Q'ed about 16048 files! I'm guessing that's about the whole download, didn't use Torrent. I saw this tagged to some of the files in this update I did on 2/14/2020: Name HEUR Date Discovered Mar 2, 2018 Type Malware. The rest were marked suspicious. :no_sad: DCS is out of my reach. :cry_2:

I took the RISK and had the file restored by Bitdefender and ...... I'm in the air :-)

Same here,after updated to 2.5.6 Beta, the Kaspersky AV show message quarantined the WorldGeneral.dll so DCS.exe cannot run due to WorldGeneral.dll was not found

Hello added Dcs world openbeta to Bitdefender exceptions but it is still stuck in 10% and does not contineu the setup.

Do you have VAICOM installed? This happened to me..... stuck at 10%....

 

If so, close VAICOM and do not use VA until Holywood fixes it...

 

Run DCS Repair and it will find 2 extra files.... authorise deletion....

 

Then all worked for me....

 

If you fire up VA with VAICOM again the same stop at 10% will happen.

Nope... Tried to repair. No joy here. How can I go back to 2.5.5 so that I use my sim this long weekend. I tried to re download 2.5.6 but it is saying that it is up to date, and I can not retry to install it without my firewall on.

Disabling VA and reparing made it for me for a time but suddenly it wont open again, when i start DCS it appears a login window and after login in the game tries to load but it crash, reverting back to 2.5.5 or repairing is not working either... dont know what i messed up. Trying a clean install now... it might take hours :(

Im 100% speculating, but the new drm algorithms might look suspiciously like ransomware. Its likely a false positive match by the av software.

same issue here - tried a restore from quarantine and it just dumped all the files (about 16,000 of them) to desktop - not happy :<

I had to switch off my virus protection... Then go to the Eagle Dynamics Folder and Repair... Then run it after the repair and it worked. I just had to remember to switch the Virus Protection back on after i finished playing.

i had same prob before update i cleaned the prefetch folder out . odd thing is after update it starts fine. but where are all the players on line
