I don't know if this is the right place for the forum to do this.

I recently realized that the speed of downloads has been noticeably improved. Usually we have the habit of criticizing and we miss the improvements. So thank you very much for this great improvement.

My belief is that this change benefits mostly those people whose Internet Service Provider applies traffic shapping to torrent downloads, making them much slower than they have to be.

On my case, my ISP does not impede torrent traffic, and thus I haven't noticed an improvement on the download speeds, but I'm glad that it benefits others that are not so lucky with their ISPs.

Yes, the HTTP download speed is nice. I got steady 15MB/sec for today's patch, which is close to what I usually get from Steam game downloads. So yeah, thanks ED for making massive updates less painful.

I have a 130 Mbit/sec cable Internet connection, and I'm trying to download the latest update.

It's 10.7 Gigabytes compressed, and I'm getting ~250 KB/sec., which is atrocious.

I cannot switch between HTTP and Torrent methods to download it--it won't let me.

For the past few updates the download rate has maxed my NBN D/L bandwidth (6 MB/s). Today, with a much bigger patch and I'm sure plenty wanting it, I'm getting ~2.6 - 3 MB/s from the start of the download.

However, about halfway through the download of the update only (not Channel map or P-47) and the download speed has slowed to 260 - 320 KB/s

Exact same here. Not expecting miracles, but I'm also getting about 1/4 to 1/3 MB/sec which is horrendous. It's a 10.7 GB download!!

I have a feeling some Update servers are OFFLINE..

It looks like half of the Update Servers are down, according to my SkateZilla Updater Utility.

I am just going to take a nice long Healthy Walk.

Cheers.

That sucks, I'm about 2/3 through the download and my speeds are around 150 KB/sec now. Just terrible. Oh, man...

With no torrent mode, we can't share the portion we've already downloaded and help speed it up for everyone else, either. BitTorrent is a great way to transfer data and share files, it's a mighty shame ISPs have their knickers in a knot over it. It helps get around this kind of nonsense.

Pretty funny considering the original thread title :)

You might as well cancel the download unless you like to fly without any functioning instrument lights.

Instrument lights don't work at all in the newest version? In any module? I haven't tried it yet, just downloaded it.
