[CANNOT REPRODUCE, PLEASE PROVIDE A TRACK FILE] Gun Accuracy

I have played multiple aircraft in guns only and the gun is completely useless!!!!!! I have used the F18 against F18 entered wingspan and cannot connect unless full windscreen. I have complained before about this but no answer.

Господа,это все же русскоязычная часть форума,и ваш Ф18 может легко завалить бота Су 27, и, так же,на Су 33 (который тяжелый) можно убить бота Ф18. Но ведь это русский форум?

людям просто хочется пообщаться с разрабами напрямую минуя КМов, что в этом плохого? с английского перевести проще, чем в случае кривого перевода на русский пытаться понять суть.

To the topic starter: please be more specific with your complaint. Maybe post a video or a trackfile. There have been some issues with the radius of the M-61 Vulcan but they were far from making the gun usless. Just hop into a Multiplayer Match and see how some of the Pilots around here shred you into pieces with the gun without any issues.

 

I think a better way of finding out if there is an issue actual is to ask the forums and tell what your own experiences are instead of starting a campaign of complaints based on lacking knwledge.

 

Seems to get state of the art shortly...

 

And please I really don't want to offend anybody but just trying to keep the forums less toxic. When I started here it was such a nice, gentle and helpful place.

If you’re entering wingspan, it sounds like you’re using the funnel rather than the radar sight. The funnel is tricky, you’ll need to line up the wingspan with the edges of the funnel in the same plane of motion, pull forward a bit so the target wings are a little outside the funnel edges, then fire and relax G and let the target fly through your bullets.

 

Or lock them with the radar ACM modes and put the thing on the thing and fire. Much easier :)

seriously though there are lots of people say the gun is terrible. i say get closer so the shotgun can hit more of the target.

To the OP, are you making "snapshots"? All of the gun symbology are some variation of lead computing sights. There are some small variations in each methods quirks, but in essence all lag the real situation by one "TOF"...time of flight of the bullets.

 

 

That means for any reliable gunshot, you must "saddle up". Get in guns solution and hold this stable solution for a moment or so for all the symbology to catch up. This largely means you have to be maneuvering in the same plane as your target at fairly stable G loading. Effectively, you need to put yourself in a position where you can expect a second or so in the future to look just like it does now to account for the flight time of the bullets. If you fire now with a perfectly centered pipper, but the target banks hard out of plane, he won't be there in a few fractions of a second when the bullets are reaching the predicted place.

 

Snapshots (unstable gun shots) can work, but are much harder and much less reliable.

Are you talking specifically about the gun funnel symbology? I haven't had any issues with the radar directed gunsight as you describe.
