abak
Hi, I've just got Cut / 3PTSIW (landed three points) from LSO. I watched the track, and it is clear (to my uncalibrated eyeball) that nose wheel was reasonably high above the deck at touchdown. I admit that my AoA was less than 8.1 because I added power to MIL right before touchdown, but certainly this is far from landing on nose wheel. Please have a look at my track and screenshot. xnomad
Same here I get cut on 3 wire with 3PTSIW. The damn LSO always cuts me for landings I'm pretty happy with. I did not touch down on 3 points and flew the ball and AOA the whole way down. xnomad
I got a no grade with EGIW on a nice 3 wire last night. I didn't touch the throttle just before touch down and then went military when I landed. I didn't back off the throttle. The LSO reminds me of my high school math teacher. She hated me and said "I can give you any grade I want".... Edited July 17, 2020 by xnomad Windows 10 Pro 64bit, i7-9700KF @ 3.60GHz, 32GB RAM, GeForce RTX 2070 Super 1800MHz, Occulus Rift S, CH Pro Pedals, CH Pro Throttle, Virpil MongoosT-50 CM2, Virpil VPC WarBRD Base. Sandman1330
Again, I can't get a passing grade out of the LSO. Track attached. EGIW 3 wire. You’re not alone! https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=274377&highlight=Egiw I’ve found the only way to avoid this is to slap it to burner right before touchdown. It’s hard to do as I find the hornet tends to want to float over the deck, so often it will result in a 4 wire or bolter. It’s easier in the tomcat because you can use the DLC to stay on the ball when you throttle up. Mj_Games44
I have been flying on and off the Supercarrier and I have got perfect passes from a horrible lineup and final, and I have got a cut off grade from a perfect pass. Is anyone else having this problem and is it fixable?
draconus
It is still WIP and seem to work better with a Hornet than a Tomcat atm. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX3060 Rift S T16000M TWCS TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
Stearmandriver
Yup. One major problem is erroneous EGIW and 3pt critiques, both of which can ding your grade down a level. The only way to avoid them is to start a power addition a second or two before touchdown, so if you're spooled and on the ball at that point, you can choose between a nice 3 wire trap that's graded poorly, or adding power and riding it into a 4 wire or bolter in an effort to avoid the EGIW critique. Choose wisely.
Wroblowaty
And even if you have good on speed AoA, remember to pull the stick by a small amount just before touch down, to avoid 3PTS in wires.
AndyJWest
The LSO grading-algorithm is flawed. I'd concentrate on trying to make proper landings per procedure, and ignore it. You are liable to acquire bad habits otherwise.

Stearmandriver
@BIGNEWY this problem is 100% repeatable, there's no need for a user track. Fly a stable pass, and literally take your hand off the throttle IC. You'll still get the EGIW grade, even though you obviously didn't reduce power at the ramp. Every single time.
falkeblikket
I do not find the LSO easy to understand. He gives me "_OK_" from time to time, but more often than not it comes as a surprise. I am equally surprised after passes that feels perfectly safe but are graded "C". The 3PTSIW must be bugged I think. (For reference: I have practiced DCS carrier landings and do not crash anymore, at least not for the last couple of hundred landings or so.) ED Team BIGNEWY Posted April 2, 2021 ED Team Share Posted April 2, 2021 Hi all, feed back from the team, 3PTS error settled when pitch is 3 degrees or less - this means nose wheel is too low, wrong landing attitude thanks 1 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? ED Team BIGNEWY Posted April 12, 2021 ED Team Share Posted April 12, 2021 Just to add to this, While the issue here is marked correct as is, we do have an issue with touch and goes and a nose down issue which maybe related, this will be addressed in a flight model review. thanks 2 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
