Hey Guys these are all wonderful photos of the Fleet of ships.

To answer your question, Citizen. DCS doesn't like when we create a single object ship collision models for the ships so I've gone back to the old way of doing business and that's separating the flight deck from the rest of the collision mod. That has proven to solve the FPS drop issue. All ships will be tested for FPS drop prior to release using multiple aircraft types.

Acid that is a VSN mod. All versions still work in DCS. F-35A, B & C. They appear to respond to air threats quicker than some of the other AI Aircraft.

bbtbmb you can always revert back to an older version of DCS. The mods still should appear in the game no matter which DCS versions you are using.

Hi Admiral,

Please take it easy and take all the time you need to recover - we enjoy your content very much and we look forward to the updates and new ships.  That said, you should prioritize your health over DCS modding and you ought to take good care of yourself.  Good luck with rehab and once again, thank you for everything.  I hope you can find support and resources from the VA if your health problems are service-related.

Hello Admiral, hope you are recovering well.

For everyone in the community, has anyone else had trouble installing Admiral’s OSA missile boats? I’ve dropped it into the Saved Games - Mods - tech folder like all the others, but the OSAs don’t show up in the Mission Editor or in the list of Installed Mods. All of Admiral’s other ships I’ve downloaded install and work fine, but repeating the process with the OSAs is coming up blank.

The only difference I can tell is that the OSAs downloaded as a 7z archive, but all the others were .zips. Maybe I’m extracting it wrong?

Anyone got any tips?

Hi!  The only time I experienced anything like that I had accidentally nested the folder in /tech/
Make sure that your file structure is
\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\mods\tech\Project_205_OSA Class BETA\

I had a situation where my structure was
\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\mods\tech\[mod name]\mods\tech\[modname]
and DCS can't read that.  Essentially, the first folder after \mods\tech\ or \mods\aircraft\ needs to contain the entry.lua

I worked it out. It was definitely the extraction process; probably the utility I was using. I noticed the various database folders were empty. Once I extracted the 7z archive using a different application (non-freeware) it worked, and the vessels are now usable.

Good Afternoon everyone. Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it.

I would like to thank you all for your support and kind words. It means a lot. It shows you are human. We all go through something that slows us down in life but it's up to all of us to push through it and keep moving. I am recovering slowly. It has really been a long year and it's not over yet. I am feeling much better but I'm still bothered by pain here in there. Hopefully, in a few weeks, I will be back up and running at full steam again.

To keep my mind occupied I worked on the HMS Richmond. I think she is 99% finished. Thanks to CH, Eddie, Toan, and Marroux for the testing and giving me advice. Teamwork makes the dream work. This model was actually made for printing I think but I made it work. It does what it should in DCS. I have created three Liveries for the UK and Chile.  Stay Tuned!

What a beaut!

It has been a rough year.  Existence can take on a brutal aspect in trying times.

Your willingness to push through and continuing to produce beauty and enhance the joy of this community is pretty inspiring.  I've started to learn more about modding and what all these numbers and figures in the luas *do*.  I hope to be able to contribute in some small way.

"I had hoped we wouldn't need them."
The tired man rubbed the stubble on his scalp in frustration, with the tips of his fingers finding deep scars.
"Hiring people to kill for us?  I thought we were better than this, Fifo."
His friend smiled ruefully.
"Jack, mi amigo.  Fate works against us.  We must use all weapons in our hands, yes?  The means justify the ends.  Besides," A conspiratorial, mischievous smile crossed his face.  "Those men - and women!" he quickly and emphatically added, "they would be killing with or without our gold.  Mercenaries like these, they are like prostitutes, yes?"
Jack blanched, but his piercing blue eyes belied the amusement he felt as his friend delivered his punchline.
"We do not pay these people to kill.  We pay them to leave once there are no more of our enemies to kill."

Hey Guys thanks for the photos. They keep me motivated to keep creating AI Ship mods.

KusadaKusao, I have that mod in my inventory. I really like the Mogami Class frigates. I watch their movement in Yokosuka, Japan sometimes. It will be some time before I can get to my Japanese AI Ship mods.

At the moment all my energy is going into the completion of the Type 23 Class Frigate.

Hi @Admiral189, I hope your surgery recovery has been going well. I've really been loving using your HMS Albion mod recently but i had a question regarding it and your Type 23 mod. As shown in the bottom picture, these ships are far more 'blueish' in colour than the ingame HMS Invincible despite being the same shade of grey irl (see image attached). Is there a specific reasoning behind this? I'm sorry if this has been asked before but either way these are really great to see in game.Screenshot_20231125_193941_Gallery.jpg

Hey Tactical_Apollo, sometimes it's difficult to get the exact hull colors of the ships unless you're physically standing beside them. I use a tool in Paint called Color Picker to pull the texture from photos I have but what I noticed is two photos of the same ship turn out different. I had a blueish texture on the HMS Richmond but I think it was too bluish so I removed it and just added a haze-grey texture.  If you can pull the exact texture color of the ship's hull colors, I'm more than willing to update the textures. I hope that explains why the Mod textures are the way they are.

Thanks so much, Pappy2. I'm recovering well at a slow pace but I'm getting there day by day. I appreciate the well wishes from you all. It means a lot. Thanks again Pappy.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Good Afternoon everyone. I have finished creating the HMS Richmond AI 3D Model ship for DCS.

I would like to thank all who contributed to the creation of the model. CH, Eddie, Toan, Marroux, Citizen, and CrazyEddie. Thank you all for your assistance in creating the HMS Richmond 3d model.

The HMS Richmond 3d model was created for printing I think but I made due with what I have. I couldn't find a better-detailed model of the ship online.

I am preparing her for release as I write this message. We try as 3d modelers our best to create 3d model AI ships to function as close as we can to the real ship. However, the DCS game engine doesn't always do what we want it to do. Also, we can not please everyone and I will not try to. That is impossible.  If you have some input that can make the AI Ship mods better PLEASE PM ME and share your thoughts.

Below are some snapshots of the HMS Richmond along with 3 UK Liveries and 3 Chile Liveries. I will give more details of the model once I release her.  Thank you all for your patience and understanding.  Stay Tuned!

Hello everyone. Type 23 frigate HMS Richmond F239 has been released for download.

HMS Richmond is a Type 23 frigate of the Royal Navy. She was launched on 6 April 1993 by Lady Hill-Norton, wife of the late Admiral of the Fleet The Lord Hill-Norton, and was the last warship to be built by Swan Hunter Shipbuilders. She sailed from the builders on the River Tyne in November 1994. She is named for the Dukedom of Richmond.

I forgot to add the HMS Richmond has a damage model as well. If you have any major technical issues PLEASE PM me. Thank you all for your patience. Enjoy!
