F10 map windowed in cockpit

Probably been asked before, but it would be great to have the F10 map available like the kneeboard as a window in the cockpit.

Multiplayer servers can just turn the option off then.

I totally agree with you imacken

With VR it can be problematic to hit the F10.

It's not so much hitting the F10 button - I have F1 F2 F10 F5 and F6 mapped to a hat on my throttle - it's more that you have no idea what your aircraft is doing when accessing the F10 map.  Getting coord info is also a pain, flicking back and fore between cockpit and map.

That is a great idea. nothing worse than having to take your eyes off the road, just to peek a a map.

I've searched the forum and manual unsuccessfully. Once I hit F10 and open the map, how do I close it?

Bit OT, but just go back to another view, e.g. F1 cockpit.

Bumping this OP ... going full screen for the F10 rather than a scrollable/moveable popup window (replicating paper chart/pad display) in cockpit is horrible.  Essentially, the F10 map windowed rather than full screen is my ask here please. The kneeboard works as an alternative but we'd need scrollable and zoomable funcationality on it.

nope, not for all us VR users it won't.

using   vr  here  and  the  best  thing  that  i  bought  is  voice  attack  no need  to  search  for any buttons   just   assign  the  keys  to  voice  commands   and  it  opens  up  and  close  again,  there is  a trial  version  with  only  10     key  commands  available  but  now  i  got  over  20  assigned  good thing  about  voice  attack it  works  with  any  addons  and  with  windows  etc

It's not a 'searching for buttons' thing - I have F10 bound to my HOTAS along with other views - it's the fact that it takes up the whole screen, which can cause a lot of issues when you are flying!

@sirrah comment was just regarding the 2nd monitor suggestion.

I actually asked BN for this when he announced the new kneeboard functions, no reaction back then unfortunately.

 

A scrollable, zoomable "Alt" F10 map version on the kneeboard would actually be much more helpful than the original, outdated TPC charts that sometimes differ from the DCS world quite significantly.
